I’ve been staying at ibis budget almost every week since September, and it has truly become my home away from home. The quality you get for the price is excellent, clean rooms, everything you need, and very consistent standards. What really makes the difference, though, are the people: the staff are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They recognize you, they smile, and they make you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. If you’re looking for great value, reliability, and a place where you genuinely feel at ease, I can highly recommend it.

A very clean hotel but after getting to hotel late in evening and feeling tired, I found that the wall key holder, to activate lights tc. was broken. Went back down to reception and was transferred to new room. As it was getting later I crashed out immediately. On waking, I found that towels were missing and soap dispenser was broken. No time to travel down again to reception for replacements. Very bad start to the day. Very poor attention to basic housekeeping by hotel.

I stayed for three nights and experienced the following issues. I carefully stepped into the shower cubicle, and only after my whole body was already wet did I realise that the shampoo and shower gel bottles were completely empty. At that point it was too late, so I had no choice but to stop showering and hurriedly dry myself because I had to catch up with my friend for dinner and concert shortly. Before going out, I specifically informed the front desk and asked them to refill the shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. They promised. However, when I returned to my room after 10 p.m., the empty bottle was completely unchanged — still empty. Because I was extremely tired and didn’t want to go downstairs again, I had to figure out how to remove the empty bottle myself and pour liquid from another bottle by the sink into it. After struggling for quite a while, I finally started showering, only to discover that the pump couldn’t be pressed and no liquid would come out. I then had to remove the bottle yet again, unscrew the cap, and use it that way. This was my experience on my first day at your hotel, February 5. Other problems during my stay included: the hairdryer I borrowed with a €20 deposit had a loose connection and was very awkward and uncomfortable to use (it only worked if I kept pressing the button continuously); and the hot water from the lobby coffee machine never worked unless a staff member at the front desk helped — otherwise no hot water would come out at all. As it was my first time in Amsterdam and my schedule was quite tight, I truly did not have the time or energy to repeatedly negotiate with front desk staff who were indifferent and took no action. I hope you can make improvements.

I was overcharged when I arrived at the hotel and I am yet to receive a refund. When we first checked in and went to our room a staff member let themselves into our room forgetting we were in there. Breakfast was over priced for what it was. There was no remote for the TV in the room. The location was great though and the shop downstairs was good.
