We arrived on the hottest of days, asked for parking, we had not booked parking. The lady said no parking it is all booked, so I parked in the free station car park and unloaded the car in the heat. Overnight there were three spaces free in the car park, plus a disabled space. We were clearly lied to. Even if bookings had fallen through, they could have told us and offered us a space later in the evening to make things easier for us in the morning. The room was small, the bathroom door was broken, the shower door was mouldy. Breakfast was barely adequate, we had better in lower quality hotels on the way, and not helped by having to compete with a coach load of elderly folks struggling with the complexities of the coffee machine. We have stayed here before and thoroughly enjoyed it, not this time. I don't think we will be back.

Another pleasant stay. Friendly helpful staff. Room well located for my needs ( I bring a dog ) on the ground floor near the exit to the car park which I requested. Overall a good and easy stay. Only annoyance is the fee was taken from my account prior to arrival and again on arrival which I will have to ensure is returned by the end of march. This didn’t happen on my last stay so hope it’s not a mistake and I’ve been double charged

We arrived at around 11 a.m. and parked the car in the secure parking. We returned mid-afternoon after visiting Saumur and its impressive chateau. It is a pleasant 15 minute stroll across the Loire to town, with a great view of the chateau, from the hotel. We stayed in this hotel before, in 2013. It was excellent then and nothing has changed since (except, if I remember correctly, the parking wasn’t secure back then). The room and bathroom were spotless. This time our room was at the back. Last time it was at the front. Zero noise from the street or from trains, front or back. We got a good night's sleep. Breakfast is excellent, top quality fare. Staff are friendly. There was a water fountain near reception dispensing fizzy as well as plain water. We will definitely be back!
