We always book room 120 and underground parking. There was no valid explanation for being allocated room 107, a so called 'Privelege Room, painted in BLACK, with fewer facilities such as (dressing table). Anoffer of a move on day 2 was declined, to avoid more disruption to us. A very POOR way to treat clients who have been staying at this hotel for over 10 years !

The hotel is pleasant with great view on the Loire and Saumur. Disappointing that there is no restaurant however. We had planned to have dinner in town but when a big thunder storm hit Saumur we had to stay in. The only dinner option offered is room service. We asked if it could be served in the lounge by the terrace rather than shut away in the room. This was declined only to find that dinner is out of glass pots anyway. It tasted ok but it was served as glass pots plonked on a tray with some cuttlefish. Nothing to keep it warm while we had the starters, no plates we had to eat out of the pots and served in the room on a tiny table with just one chair so my husband ate sat on the bed. Not great attention to room service experience despite being the only dinner option offered. The trip was a treat for my husband and I and that spoiled the experience somewhat.

Very disappointing. Hotel completely lacking any character or welcome. Room small, overpriced for what it was, and very basic. On arrival, no real welcome from staff, no recognition of hotel group membership, no offer to help or explain policies. Hotel does not serve food in evenings, and front door locked at 9 p.m. but this was not explained. Room air-conditioning noisy, difficult to operate, and did not really cool Room. No fridge in room. Provision of teas/coffee very limited. Tiny cups, only 2 tiny milk sachets, no tea spoons. Water bottle not refilled for second day, used towels not changed for second day. Will not use this Hotel again.

We stayed twice both on the outward and return journey to the uk. On each occasion the staff were exemplary - friendly, attentive and spoke good English. Room cleanliness and quality of amenities was first class (we were upgraded to a Privilege room on each occasion). Location was perect, car parking easy (we used the car park) and the view from the room was idyllic. Breakfast was extremely varied and plentiful. The only negative at breakfast, as an English visitor, was the lack of tea bags - having to make the tea from fresh leaves was good but unnecessary.

Friendly and efficient staff, comfortable room with good air conditioning, fantastic views from the bar and terrace. Excellent breakfast. We knew beforehand that there wasn't a restaurant but it was only about 15 minutes walk to the town for a wide choice of places to eat. Parking was secure.

Stayed here on several occasions. This time it was just a one night stop over. The staff here are lovely and so helpful. We had our "usual" Privilege room overlooking the Loire with fabulous views of the castle lit up at night. The room was thankfully cool (during a heat wave !) and the bed very comfortable. The Express Breakfast was served by cheerful staff and was all we needed before we continued our journey. We will return.
