Dear Mr S., Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are pleased that you found our hotel clean and well maintained and that our team was friendly and helpful. However, we sincerely apologize for the difficulties caused by the roadworks and the lack of vehicle access close to the hotel. We fully understand how unsettling it must have been to wait for a taxi at 4 a.m. in a dark side street, out of sight of the hotel. Your safety and peace of mind are very important to us, and we regret that the arrangements for your departure left you feeling unsafe. We also regret that this access restriction was not communicated clearly enough in advance. Your comments highlight the importance of informing guests about such disruptions and helping them plan their journeys accordingly. We will share your feedback with the relevant team. The IBIS Budget was clean, tidy, well run and the rooms were as expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. What was not expected, nor indicated anywhere on the website is that, due to road works there is no vehicle access within 100m of the hotel. This means that taxis can not get to the hotel, which was inconvenient for drop offs during the day, but very concerning at night. We had an early flight which required us to leave by taxi at 4am. The staff were helpful - but also concerned that the taxi would not come to due to the access, they eventually talked the taxi into coming, but we had to meet it 100m away, around the corner and not in view of the hotel. We felt very unsafe waiting for a taxi at 4am on a side street in the dark.

I really appreciated the hotel management team. Daniel was very helpful when the lock on my luggage was broken after being damaged during the flight. On another day, I noticed that my bed had a strong smell of sports muscle-recovery cream, so I asked if it could be changed. It was handled immediately and without any problem. I also really appreciated the staff at breakfast. They clearly cared about the quality of the service and made sure everything was well prepared and pleasant for the guests. Overall, I really appreciated how helpful, attentive, and responsive the whole team was.

Ideal hotel if you are looking for a cheap night in Hamburg. Close to the bus station and the main train station, which was important to me.
