Regarding the room setup: in our standard room categories, a fridge or minibar isn't included and is only available from our Executive rooms upward. We're happy to advise on suitable room categories for a future stay. As for the telephone, our rooms no longer have a traditional phone. Instead, guests can contact reception directly from their own device via our digital tool "2roomz." We understand that this modern approach doesn't suit everyone, and we appreciate you letting us know. Items such as a toothbrush and toothpaste are not placed in the room by default, but they are available at reception on request, so please don't hesitate to ask next time. We've also passed on your comments about the other bathroom amenities and the overall feel of your stay to our team, so we can look into them further. Disappointing experience – Lacks basic hotel amenities Unfortunately, my stay was well below expectations and does not reflect the brand’s reputation. It felt like renting just a bed and a bathroom, as basic room amenities were completely missing: No mini-fridge/refrigerator in the room. No telephone or means to contact the reception from the room. Essential amenities such as a hairdryer, toothbrush, and toothpaste were not provided in the room. The area is strictly practical around the train station and lacks a welcoming atmosphere for families. Overall, the service lacks basic hospitality standards.

The reception staff is helpful, pleasant to answer to all our concerns and questions. The room is clean, bed comfy, except the pillows are mushy (need replacement). The pleasant surprise is the breakfast: I never seen a variety of choices like freshly made pancakes, soya milk, delicious croissants, etc.... I highly recommend Novotel for your stay

Hotel is very conveniently located, great amenities, friendly staff. Only feedback is the coffee / mugs was not refreshed on the first day. Housekeeping came in the room, took room key from slot, but didn't clean room or refresh the coffee or replace the mugs.

No fridge in room was an inconvenience, no moisturiser or body lotion provided in bathroom, air conditioning not very efficient - room did not get cool even on lowest setting, window was very dirty on outside spoiling the view. Breakfast price was very expensive.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We're glad you found our location convenient for exploring the sights via public transport, and that you appreciated our quiet rooms. Regarding the fridge, our Standard rooms don't include one as part of our sustainability commitment and Green Key certification, with a fridge available from Executive rooms upward. As for the bathroom amenities, moisturiser and body lotion aren't included by default, but our reception is happy to provide these on request. Regarding the air conditioning, our system is currently set to cooling mode centrally throughout the hotel, and in the room, guests can only adjust the intensity of the airflow rather than the exact target temperature, which is preset house wide. We're also sorry to hear about the dirty window affecting your view, we've shared this with our housekeeping team. Regarding breakfast, our buffet includes a wide variety, from our Asian corner to our pancake station, along with fairtrade certified coffee and tea, though we understand this can still feel like an investment. First of all checked in a room which had a completely stinky washroom, reported to staff, they changed. Moment we settled electricity went off of the entire room. Reported it again, I was first told to stay in the dark, then after I pushed they gave me a new room, with beds not ready for my family of 4 (2a and 2c 13 & 10 yr old) but rather ready for a family with babies as there was cot in the room. In the whole chaos I had to go down to customer service 8 times in one evening to arrange for everything and dealing with loads of attitudes of staff. After I am having exponential jet lag after flying in from Canada that morning. They even expected after i repack my stuff and move to the final room, i am supposed to provide them the keys of old room when it was already 10 pm at night. I couldn't provide them @6 am as I was leaving the hotel at that time. In the dark I lost my cosmetics and the cleaning staff did not have the courtesy of returning those items the next day, despite the fact we had to move in pitch darkness. The entire stay was soo uncomfortable because there is no exhaust fans in the washroom, AC doesn't work properly, coffee sachets never provided, used cups never changed and multiple bugs in the room despite telling this to the General Manager, still she could not bother. Only thing she offered was 3 free breakfasts after I met her first on Wednesday Sep 2. Multiple things were reported to her different days, regarding bugs but she didn't bother. Throughout the stay my son had a running nose due to some bug which was in the room. The moment we used to left the room, he was fine. Furthermore 2 nights of our stay, iron room plugs were not working. We had to wear crushed clothes. Last night we were dinning in the hotel, we ordered something but a wrong order was provided, the staff acknowledged, the mistake was made by the kitchen staff. She removed that dish from my order but despite we told her our orignal order, she didn't place the order. After sitting there for 50 mins we had to leave to get food from train station. We had to come back because the train station was getting evacuated. We unfortunately and regretfully had to get a meal again from the hotel because we had an early flight to catch back home. From day one to last had horrible customer service. Only one bar male staff was nice who comes all the way from Bratislava has a newborn baby. Forgot his name but he had great customer service.

We are truly sorry to learn how disappointing and stressful your experience was, particularly after arriving from Canada on the same day and travelling with your family. We sincerely regret the difficulties you encountered from the moment of arrival. Having to change rooms several times, first due to the bathroom issue and subsequently due to the electrical problem, is certainly not the smooth arrival we aim to provide. We also understand how frustrating it must have been to find that the second replacement room was not properly prepared for your family of four. We apologize for the additional inconvenience and time this caused you. Regarding the loss of electricity, our team should always handle such a situation with urgency and provide appropriate assistance. We are sorry if you felt that your concerns were not taken seriously or that you were left without sufficient support. We will review the circumstances with the team to ensure that similar situations are handled more effectively in the future. We are also very sorry to hear about the cosmetics you believe were lost during the room move. We understand that moving belongings in a dark room can make it particularly difficult to keep track of personal items. Our housekeeping team was asked to check for the missing belongings, but unfortunately, they were not located. We regret that we were unable to assist you further in this matter. We have also taken note of your comments regarding the bathroom ventilation, room temperature, missing coffee supplies, used cups, insects, and the ironing room outlets. These points have been shared with the relevant departments for review. In particular, reports concerning insects are taken seriously, and we regret that you felt your concerns were not adequately addressed during your stay. We are equally sorry about your experience at our restaurant. Waiting for approximately 50 minutes without receiving the meal you had originally ordered, especially after an incorrect dish had initially been served, is understandably frustrating. We regret that the situation resulted in you having to leave the restaurant and look for an alternative meal, particularly given your early departure the following morning and the unexpected evacuation at the train station. We are grateful, however, that you took the time to mention the positive interaction with our colleague from the bar. We will be happy to share your kind words with the team, as recognition of good service is very important to us. We also acknowledge your feedback regarding the overall service you received. The number of times you had to return to reception during your first evening clearly added to an already difficult arrival. This is not the level of organization and hospitality we want our guests to experience at Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof. Assistant Front Office Manager already offered you three complimentary breakfasts during your stay, we regret that this gesture did not resolve the concerns you experienced. We understand that the issues you encountered went beyond a single inconvenience and affected several aspects of your stay. Please accept our sincere apologies for the overall experience. I got a free upgrade upon check-in. Thanks! The room is spacious and clean. The facility is well maintained. The only thing I don't like is the crappy free Wifi, it congests and drops constantly, almost unusable.
