Always a friendly welcome.been 5 times always comfotable not happy have to pay for breakfast after paying over 1000 for 3 nights

Dear Tracey, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. It's always wonderful to hear that our returning guests continue to feel welcomed by our friendly team with each stay! I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed by our breakfast offering - we provide the option to include breakfast in the cost of any reservation for an additional (often discounted) fee, as opposed to adding this when in-house, which may present a better option for future bookings. It appears that you paid around £240.00 per night for this reservation, due to it's timing and in-line with local trends. The Fringe Festival and Royal Military Tattoo attract a massive number of people to the city every August, dramatically increasing rates across the city beyond what they are outwith this time. Our rates fluctuate regularly, and though we do not change what is provided with this - the option to book breakfast always remains optional to all guests. All the staff were wonderful, the breakfast was very good and overall the hotel is good but the plumbing was terrible. The smell of the drains was coming through the shower room plug holes, the toilet cistern was noisy and kept refilling and we could here water being used from many other rooms.

misleading, dismissive, and poor value

We booked a “dog-friendly” room at ibis Central Edinburgh and were charged £60 extra for bringing our dog. What we received in return was frankly insulting. The so-called dog amenities consisted of: • a dog bed barely large enough for a chihuahua • a bowl so small it would be more appropriate for a cat This is not a minor oversight. If you are charging a substantial premium and advertising dog-friendly rooms, the basics should be usable for dogs that are not handbag-sized. When I raised this at reception, things went from disappointing to unacceptable. I asked to speak to a manager. Both managers on duty (Dean and Florian) refused to speak to me, despite repeated requests. Front-of-house staff member Faith declined to pass on a message or escalate, and I was effectively told to go away at the desk. As a result, we had to leave the hotel to buy our own dog bowl, and our dog ended up sleeping on the bed because there was no suitable alternative provided. Charging £60 for a service and then refusing to engage when that service is clearly inadequate is poor customer care at best, and misleading at worst. “Dog-friendly” should mean more than taking your money and hoping you won’t challenge it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone travelling with a dog, and I am deeply unimpressed by the refusal of management to deal with a straightforward, reasonable complaint.
