Comfortable beds and pleasant rooms. The outdoor space was a bonus and the parking was plentiful. Definitely need to update to include bedside sockets for charging devices. The rooms felt a bit cramped, but we're fine generally.

Stayed here for a night before going to the channel tunnel. Mercure is normally a safe bet but this particular hotel is vey tired and needs refurb and update. Restaurant boring with limited healthy food options and uninterested staff. Carpets tired. Stretch covers over settees - is this the 1950s? Room ok (just) but window left open and impossible to close and a lot of road noise.

I want to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at the Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel on the 21st-23rd May 2026, as unfortunately the experience fell far below what I would reasonably expect. My main concern was the condition of the room temperature in my room 138. During one of the hottest periods of the year, the radiator in the room had been left on prior to my arrival, which made the room unbearably hot. Although I turned the radiator down immediately, opened the windows, and used the fan provided in the wardrobe, the room never cooled down properly during the two nights of my stay. As there was also no air-conditioning available, I was unable to sleep for the duration of the visit. The bedding also worsened the situation, as the duvet provided was extremely thick for the room temperature and there was no lighter sheet available to use instead. Combined with the excessive heat, this made the room very uncomfortable overnight. In addition, there was a noticeable gap underneath the room door, and because the corridor lights remained on throughout the night, a large amount of light came into the room. This further affected my ability to sleep, especially given how uncomfortable the heat already was. I was also disappointed with the breakfast offering that I had paid for. The vegetarian options were very limited, and some of the hot food items, particularly the eggs and hash browns were undercooked. I did raise these concerns with reception during my stay, and I was provided with an email address to formally submit my complaint. I have sent two emails to the manager and receptionist, which neither I received a response for. Overall, the stay was extremely disappointing and did not provide the comfort or standard expected when booking with a Mecure hotel. Given the impact this had on my stay, particularly the inability to sleep properly over two nights, I would appreciate consideration of a partial refund as a fair resolution.

There are a limited number of rooms available above one event room and these are usually allocated to guests attending events. Please accept my sincere apologies for this unfortunate matter. I have spoken with the reception manager and direct action has been taken We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Please let me know if you ever look to stay in the area in the next 6 months and I will be pleased to offer an upgraded room and a 50% discount on the 'rate of the day' Once again Martin, I am sorry your weekend was disrupted in this way. We had a lakeside suite which was great size, decor a little dated but was comfortable. Breakfast tasty, but a bit chaotic on second morning as the staff were not clear if we had breakfast included or not. So only criticism was booking info/confirmation should have been clearer.

The staff on reception were very nice but the bar staff on Friday a you girl and Saturday a young man very disinterested in their work
