Friendly check-in however as a Platinum member it's only the 2nd Accor hotel to not allow the room charge to be left open in order to add drinks, food etc to the bill. Instead they would charge a separate amount to spend at the bar and refund any difference, though it would appear as 2 separate invoices. No room upgrade, no welcome gift, some staff said they don't do them others said they didn't have any. No telephone in the room, no body wash in the shower, only shampoo and conditioner.

I filtered my hotel search on Skyscanner specifically for "Parking Available" and booked the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly based on that advertisement. I paid their full 24-hour parking fee of £20.60. However, because my checkout/departure took an extra 31 minutes, I was hit with a predatory £100 fine by their automated cameras.When I asked the hotel for assistance, the staff completely washed their hands of it, claiming they "cannot help" because the car park is run independently. This is completely unacceptable. You cannot advertise a property as having guest parking, take £20.60 of a customer's money, and then abandon them to an aggressive third-party operator who fines them £100 for a minor 31-minute delay.The hotel team holds the contract with the parking firm and has the power to cancel this. Management needs to take accountability for how their property is marketed and get this fine dismissed. Do not stay here if you are driving.

Wifi not so good

Stayed here at the start of our holidays. Centrally located & close to buses and trams and walking around town. Our wi-fi was sometimes intermittent but worked well. Breakfast- yum. Very helpful staff. Would recommend this hotel.
