We are now approaching 80, and we come down from the Highlands periodically to visit family in Kent & Sussex. We use Mercure Tunbridge Wells as our base, mainly dining with family. This trip, we were welcomed by Steve on reception who was excellent. We had Room 117 which was clean and well maintained. The major negative was that the extractor fan in the non-window bathroom didn't work in the evenings, so 'personal odours' were trapped in the room, while it didn't work in the mornings until after 8.30am, too late to deal with us both having showers. We did report this 3 times but that was how it stayed. Breakfasts were fine, staff cheerful and the hotel as expected. We arrived back late each evening and parking was often challenging due to the large number of commercial vehicles taking up two spaces back to back or leaving no door-room, side to side. I would suggest allocating part of the park to vans leaving the rest to car users. This trip was 8 nights and we have 8 nights booked for August.

I had a very comfortable night and the staff were all attentive and happy to help. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that there was a coach party in at the same time which meant that the restaurant wasn't taking orders between 7-8pm, meaning I had to work my meal around them which wasn't ideal for me.

Our room was over 35 degrees throughout our stay. It never got cleaned on Saturday.
