Very convenient location of course, right next to the international terminal. Took a long time to get through all the bio hazard checks so we were glad we didn’t have any kind of journey afterwards. Easy check in, bedroom quiet, comfortable and modern. Enjoyed a light dinner in the restaurant. Easy to get a shuttle bus to the domestic terminal the next morning, but it is also within walking distance.

We got in after 2AM from our flight and we were really tired and needed the bathroom. We were told we have upgraded you to the Pullman, so we then walked over there and lined up with all the other people and waited and then were told we were not able to be upgraded and they complained that the staff member who upgraded us was wrong and shouldn't have done that and it was not possible to upgrade us (I did not need to know their complaints and I don't understand why good customer service wasn't possible at the time of the day) so we had to walk back to the Novotel again and wait in line again there.

We missed our flight out of Auckland, and needed to find an emergency overnight stay. The hotel accommodated us, and provide a good base for a 24 hour stay.
