Buffet breakfast service was terrible, tables not set, no salt & peppers, chefs not easily accessible for requests and the breakfast is ridiculously priced. The hotel room was ok apart from the fact that I can’t stand showers in a bathtub, need to move with the times.

I knew I was in trouble the moment I walked through the door. The entire ground floor smelled like a combination of low tide, old fish, and fryer oil that should have been changed weeks ago. Unfortunately, breakfast the next morning confirmed the source. Anything fried tasted distinctly of burnt fish, suggesting the same tired oil was being reused far beyond its useful life. Breakfast was particularly disappointing given the price. Much of it appeared to be packaged products, and what was cooked suffered from the aforementioned fryer-oil issue. Even more concerning was the amount of uncovered food sitting out. Large bowls of cereal and other items were clearly being displayed in quantities far exceeding a single morning’s service, raising questions about how many days they had been making repeat appearances. The room itself looked acceptable at first glance, but the details told a different story. Mould was visible in grout lines and around silicone seals in the shower. Frequently touched surfaces such as light switches and door edges where people touch them instead of the handles, had noticeable dirt build-up. The glassware at the tea station was either inadequately cleaned or had been washed in the bathroom sink and dried with a towel, as several glasses were covered in lint and fuzzy fibres. The others were just dirty. The bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were lumpy and overdue for replacement. The aircon unit was slow to cool and made a terrible rattling sound. The only bright spot during my stay was the front desk staff, who were friendly and made check-in quick and easy. Unfortunately, good customer service could not make up for the poor cleanliness standards, unpleasant smells, and disappointing food. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others. It’s time for an overhaul and big refresh.
