everything was great except the breakfast was slightly disappointing. it would be great to have other egg options other than scrambled and hard boiled. maybe some poached or offering to cook peoples eggs fresh as ordered? as someone who mainly eats just protein - there wasn't a lot of offerings. Staff were great tho, and the chicken tenders at the bar - so good!

I chose to stay at the Ibis because I had membership BUT at check in this was no longer the case. Intriguing given that I have previously stayed at this same Ibis as well as Christchurch and Wellington at membership rates. Given the cost of the room having Sky TV in the room should have been included - it was not possible to connect from my computer.

The hotel is showing its age. Aircon not working in the room so we had to move room. The next day the only lift was out of action so everyone had to use the stairs. The breakfast was ok however the restaurant meals weren’t great. The first night the fried fish was very smelly and I couldn’t eat it. The second night I had the beef burger. At $30 plus cost I was expecting a gourmet burger but it was small and poorly put together. The wagyu beef patty was dry and overcooked. On the positive side my partner’s Caesar salad and chicken ballotine were pretty good

Air con in room was noisy & not happy about lack of onsite parking Had to walk from Racecourse parking in dark on my own at 11pm. That is not very safe as I have been assaulted twice at night & it gave me extreme fear

I was not aware of the parking charge until I arrived. I have never had to pay for parking when staying elsewhere. There was no folder with any local restaurants or activities/events nearby where we could go, or instructions on the wifi or how to use the TV.
