We often use IBIS when we need somewhere “cheap and cheerful” to stay, normally when the focus of our trip is to be out and about sightseeing and we just need a bed for the night. This hotel was perfect for this because it was in a good location for the Metro across the road (4 stops to Retiro and 8 to Centro). The area surrounding the hotel seemed ok, there were a small number of bars and restaurants and it seemed safe. The hotel room was clean and basic as expected. The staff who checked us in in the evening were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We used the hotel bar a few times it was a nice space and the drinks were well priced. The breakfast was good quality. Some items were missing but quickly replenished. The breakfast room was small but we managed to find a table every day. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. My only issue with the hotel was the lifts. There are only 2 for a hotel which has about 138 rooms over 7 floors, and both were very slow and very small. Overall a good stay and a good option if you want a friendly budget hotel just outside Madrid Centro.
