Extremely good location, very small room, average service

Stayed 4 nights in this centrally located Mercure, staff were friendly, housekeeping was efficient. Room was standard European sized, but mine was with a small backyard which made the whole space feel much bigger. It is centrally located but rather quiet, I had a good sleep, but only for the first night. The building’s internal soundproof is not good at all. In the morning, I could clearly hear housekeeping girls chatting. But it’s during the day, and I was awake already, it was fine. From the second night, neighbour nextdoor played the TV aloud the whole night till around 20min past midnight. This is the last stay of my 4 weeks Europe vocation trip, I really didn’t want to get involved in any trouble or argue with anyone. I thought about phoning reception, but what if neighbour only turn down the volume when knocked at the door? And played loud again afterwards? Considering this, I decided to come back late to avoid some of the noise, in the meanwhile, I hoped they would only stay for one night! Well, the rest of my stay (3 nights) was all affected by the TV noise nextdoor. I know these were structural issues of the building and facilities, and it’s totally depends on the guests who stayed there, but in terms of my experience, it wasn’t nice…

Well located but how hard is it to put a coffee machine in a room
