This is not even hostel. Terrible incompetent staff. As previously mentioned from different guest rooms are extremely noisy. I had to sleep with ear plugs. As gold member ZERO benefits and I mean zero. Smallest room I've gotten in my life and I spend around 250 nights per year in hotels. Till now haven't even received the guest satisfaction survey. Will stick to HHonors in future

The team was extremely kind, welcoming and attentive - I felt very welcome! However the wifi is *very poor*. The signal is barely ok, the average debit speed is awfully low (3-4 Mbps), and the variation on the debit speed meant that I couldn't even stream the *radio* without interruptions. The poor wifi also made it very difficult to work (Zoom, emailing large files, etc...)

Since Mercure Hotel Plaza of Espana has left the Accor Hotels group, Madrid is suffering from limited well located properties... this one was chosen by default and unfortunately is probably one of the best in this respect... but the property is sad, dark: not fancy with views limited to facing buildings either ministry or closed yard and depressing. But above all for this specific stay the welcome at the reception was more than disappointing as well as the room itself - Platinum or not: no specific attentions except the basic free drink voucher that is here limited as no bar in the hotel and also no smile from the receptionist! Question is: what else worse can happen next times as I book here regularly by default? Should I chose competitive group where I benefit from fidelity lifetime highest status?

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We understand you can´t avoid to compare us to Mercure Plaza de España, it was a beautifull hotel specializing in gastronomy, we have a different concept, we are an hotel boutique specializing in the history of the ancient writers of the golden age of Madrid, thats why we are located at "Barrio de las Letras", for us is difficult to have a good gastronomic service, because, one street away from the hotel (calle Huertas) is very famous of the tourism gaastronomic and all our customers get use to go to this famous street to have a drink. About your PLATINUM STATUS, i wouls like to transmit you apologies, because you are completely right, we have to improve in this point and i am very sorry of such a bad situation.
