I had the opportunity to stay at the Pullman attached to the Midi Train Station in Brussels. The hotel was FABULOUS. The rooms were modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and always willing to assist. In addition, it was seamless to check out and get to my train. I will definitely stay at a Pullman again!

Stay was spoiled when I was in a hurry the morning I checked out - I went to collect some breakfast (make toast etc) and when I went back to my table it had all been cleared away. Quite unnecessarily.

The reception upon arrival was welcoming. The rooms were comfortable. Overall, the restaurant options were limited and the service, while friendly, was a bit slow...Not a problem because we did not have a pressing appointment. We were at the hotel for a business meeting. The accommodations for the meeting were good and the lunch was very nice. Overall, the staff was friendly.

Efficient check-in, and helpful and friendly staff in very department from check-in, to bar and restaurant and check-out. Location could not be more convenient, in the same complex and dorectly opposite the Eurostar check-in area.

Tired and rude breakfast staff

The room I had was tired with scratch and chips on doors and fixtures and a stain in the sink. I also saw a long bug in between the toilet and the room. The breakfast on the second day was awful. The staff were rude laughing at guests, did not refill empty containers, did not clean tables, did not bring coffee, did not take orders and the chef left the room service waiter cooking eggs!! Absolutely shocking and no manager in the hotel when I needed to complain. Probably why the staff's behaviour was so shocking.

In the right place for me. A good standard of cleanliness. Warm welcome at the reception. Rooms practical, but not cosy, almost an hospital look-and-feel. Breakfast under average: eggs cold, erratic service (no forks or knives in sight or on the tables)

We were seen immediately by a delightful receptionist who dealt with us very efficiently and made us feel very welcome. After visiting our room we ate in the bar and our waiter was wonderful and again made us feel welcome. Very good night’s sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. Perhaps, if I were critical, the tables could have been cleared more efficiently as we had a little difficulty finding somewhere to eat though there were plenty of tables with dirty dishes on them.

I greatly enjoyed my stay, and expect to visit again. The only reason why I gave 9 out of 10, rather than 10/10 is that whenever I was working in the room, at the table, it smelled of cigarette smoke. I don't know if the curtains were impregnated from a previous guest, or the cushions, or what else, but since you asked I thought I should mention it.

Nice comfortable room, good location, but unable to deal efficiently with a crisis

It would have been good except for one serious incident. On the first evening at the hotel, I was unable to unlock the room safe. I had put my laptop in the safe, but the safe was faulty, so the (correct) code would not open it. This was a serious problem because I needed my laptop to work on my business presentation for the following day. I called reception and after 15 minutes a maintenance engineer arrived. He had various keys, but was unable to open the safe. He said he would need to find another key. He disappeared for more than half an hour. When I enquired to reception I was told that he was busy with other things and they could not find the right key. I explained the urgency of the situation. Maybe another half an hour or more later, the engineer returned. It took him about 15 minutes of manipulation to finally open the safe. By now it was nearly 2 hours later, I was tired, and my work suffered as a result. Furthermore I was promised that the safe would be changed the next day, but nothing happened, so for the remaining 36 hours of my stay I had no room safe. When I checked out I explained again to reception what had happened. They seemed to have no idea about this incident. I asked for compensation for the distress and inconvenience I had suffered, but the receptionist was unable to authorise this. He said he would discuss it with the manager, and I would be emailed with the invoice, hopefully with an appropriate discount. However until now, more than 48 hours after I checked out, I have received nothing.
