We stayed for 5 nights and had a very comfortable visit. Ideally placed near the tram and a close walk to the main centre the Novotel was an excellent choice. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good with variety of hot and cold items, the staff even remembered my gluten free bread each morning, car park was a huge advantage.

Disappointed that there was no where to get a drink upon arrival - no bar nor minibar! TV in the room did not have M6 so I couldn't watch the World Cup, so I had to venture outside the hotel and there was not much happening nearby and a little bit uncomfortable in the backstreets. Apart from that the room and breakfast was fine.

The manager and staff were professional and courteous. Breakfast was good although a shame it was actually too hot to sit outside. The restaurant itself was fairly quiet in the evenings, so didn’t have much atmosphere, but the quality of the food made up for this. Few issues, (such as air-con in extremely hot weather) but these were dealt with immediately by the friendly and attentive staff. Facilities were all fine. Would have been better to have a walk in shower rather than a shower over the bathtub but decent and clean. Large terrace was a definite added bonus. Tram stop over the road and main train station a few minutes walk away. Overall, a great location and excellent services at a reasonable price.
