Disappointed G. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

I’m not a fan of ibis due to previous incidents at other locations but chose this as it was “supposedly” close to the Belfort train station. Also, I thought it should be ok since it was branded as ibis Styles. However, the room had a musty smell upon entering. The whole hotel appeared worn and dated. It was also indicated that there was “free in room mineral water”, not just for the room I booked but for other rooms as well. I asked about this at Reception. The lady there was not sure so she asked a guy who seemed more senior. He was defensive and rude, saying the free water was only for higher level Accor Members. If so, it should not be indicated on the website, and for the various room types too. This has certainly reinforced my bad impression of ibis.

Locks. Door handle came off. Moved rooms. Thumb latch didn't work. Then discovered interconnecting door to next door was also unlocked. No offer of refund even though we didn't stay or even unpack bags. Not like an ibis styles at all. Even though branded as such. Run down. Scruffy. Staff just thought it amusing. We left and tried to get another ibis styles in another town late at night. Website said available. Got there wasn't available. Apparently trouble with your website. Terrible experience after a nice experience at Reims.

The room was small but that didn’t matter. Comfortable bed, perfectly satisfactory bathroom and breakfast okay. The staff were very helpful: getting taxis, storing our cases before we flew home, printing our boarding passes. Good value for money - and a pleasant 10-minute stroll to pretty Belfort old town for shops & cafés.
