I stayed at Novotel Chennai SIPCOT from 24th to 25th of Jan26. The hotel property itself is good and well maintained, but unfortunately the service and attitude of the staff did not meet expectations. Parking: The hotel does not have a covered parking facility. When I arrived, it was raining heavily, and there was no assistance from the valet team. I noticed that valet service was selectively offered only to expensive cars. I was asked to park my small car at the back side so that other cars could park in the front. One of the parking assistants explicitly mentioned this, which was quite disappointing and made me feel uncomfortable right from the beginning. Front Desk Experience: The front desk staff did not provide proper information. During booking, I had clearly mentioned my preferences: Non-smoking room Large bed Quiet room Higher floor However, I was allotted a room on the 2nd floor with no view. I understand that room allocation depends on availability, but the staff did not proactively inform me about this. Only after I asked did they mention that my preferences were not available. Additionally, the room was not quiet at all. Guests on the 3rd floor were partying loudly from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and we were unable to sleep properly. Stay & Room: There was a locked “mystery door” inside our room, possibly a connecting door to another room. This was not explained during check-in. Although it was locked, it made us feel uncomfortable, and some clarification from the front desk would have helped. Wi-Fi: This was one of the worst parts of the stay. When I called reception for the Wi-Fi password, I was told there were two options: Member login using email and personal details 24-hour access code However, the staff did not provide the access code and insisted that I use the member login. Due to this inconvenience, I ended up using my own mobile data for the entire stay. Breakfast: This was the only part of the stay we genuinely enjoyed. The breakfast spread was good, and my family really liked the food. Checkout: The checkout process was smooth, but once again, no one offered any assistance with parking. Overall: While the hotel property and breakfast are good, the service quality, communication, and attitude of the staff need significant improvement. This stay did not match the standards expected from a Novotel property.

Found Toilet door is touching the ceiling and during operation it’s scrubbing the ceiling and sheds the powder I didn’t complain this during the stay

The hotel room was very humid, especially long time after a shower. There is not proper ventilation in the bathroom. Hairdryer in room 1323 does not work. Restaurant was cold and very windy from the aircon. We found a few tables where the whole group could sit. Check-in takes a long time - but many admin things like this does in India (campared to other Asian and European countries). Would be cool if you could speed it up. Nice bed and bedsheets Clean restaurant and buffet Good service overall
