Staff were friendly and welcoming as always. Stay was comfortable but room definitely showed its age. Those minor repairs did not match with the premium hotel standard. A tip to toe room renovation seems to be necessary. Just hopefully it will not lose the premium charm it used to have like other renovated areas which were big disappointment.

This is my second stay at this hotel and we stayed in a club room (water element). The experience was great throughout from the welcome at the lobby until check out. Our room was very well furnished and comfortable. The bath tub and the rainfall shower overlooking the Lumpini park are my favourite room feature.
Breakfast was busy but has a good variety and quality. The lounge has a good vibe and good drinks for evening cocktails.

Je suis un client habituel du SO Bangkok Toujours un très Bon accueil.
Choix de la chambre respecté.
Personnel très pro et disponible et très agréable et souriant.
J’ai toutefois constaté une baisse au niveau des prestation du restaurant Red Oven au petit déjeuné.
Buffet moins qualitatif que les années précédentes , les viennoiseries ne sont plus du tout au niveau. Le choix et la qualité des mets s’est particulièrement bien restreint.
Dans la chambre 2201 il y toujours des problème de remontée d’odeurs désagréables dans la salle de bain.
Aucune prestation « welcome » lors du Check in dans la suite So Duplex de l’hôtel et quelques problèmes techniques.
1) Le steam ne fonctionnait pas ( ok après intervention technicien)
2) l’état générale de la suite So Duplex nécessite vraiment un rafraîchissement. Il y a des taches sur les murs, le papier mural se décolle, il y a des traces d’infiltration d’eau. Les interrupteurs sont hors d’âge ( rayés et plastique degradé) la douche de la chambre du niveau N+1 manque de pression. Il manques aussi des équipements de base comme les chausse-pieds. Pas de shower-caps (il fallait les demander).
Il y a un système hi-fi pour la télé qui semblait ne pas fonctionner…une grande table dans la chambre mais pas de verres, pas de couverts ni assiettes…une cuisine mais aucun équipement à part un réfrigérateur quasiment vide 4 bouteille d’eau local et 2 malheureuses canettes de boissons locales. Bref de n’est absolument pas du niveau pour la plus belle et la plus chère suite de l’hôtel.
Bref ce dernier séjour était mitigé et je ne suis pas sûre, compte tenu de l’offre hôtelière d’excellente qualité sur Bangkok de revenir au SO Bangkok avant une profonde rénovation de l’hôtel.

Preference remark detail on booking was ignored.

This is a nice hotel with a great location. The hotel offers beautiful views from the rooms and the pool area. I’ve stayed at this hotel several times before, and the service has always been very good and friendly. The only downside is that the hotel rooms are old and quite worn. They could really use some renovation.

Spent 3 nights this trip and it was another great stay. Disappointed that the roof top bar was under renovation however the buffet breakfast was still extraordinary and the Club Lounge is always nice. The staff were their usual attentive standard. Location is great, close to MRT, Lumpini Park and a short 15 minute walk to Silom and the BTS.

The room was generally fine but definitely showing its age. Staff in the lounge were new and less engaging. Staff were insufficient to handle the crowd during evening canepes. Food and drink choices were also much worse than before. The overall service is deteriorating with severe cost cutting measures. The new deco of the hotel is also confusing with poor finishing and not considerate to the guests. Signages now were in bright and light colour while words are also in white colour which made them hard to read. One lift was dark while the other one was too bright with 12 LED lights overhead and I could even feel the heat from those lights. The overall tone and vibe was a big downgrade and disappointing.

I cannot remember how many times i have stayed at So Bangkok. I am always made to feel at home. This stay is the same as always. The service is world class and the rooms and facilities are as good as ever. The only slight hiccup was that there was a power failure on my entire floor. The problem was fixed in less than an hour.

So Bangkok was altijd m’n beste en favoriete hotel die ik ooit heb bezocht. Dat was ook de reden dat ik voor dit hotel heb gekozen.
Maar het lijkt door misschien de re-branding toch dat de service en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel flink achteruit is gegaan waardoor het personeel meer richting arrogantie gaat. Taalbarrière tussen Thai en Engels is misschien ook een probleem.
De cocktails in de clublounge is ook een stuk minder geworden met keuze uit 3 drankjes.
De minibar was niet meer zoals het was. 2 blikjes drank wat gratis was met een zakje koekjes. Dit ben ik niet gewend van So Bangkok.
Verder waren de amenities in de badkamer niet goed aangevuld waardoor ik dit nog moest vragen. Het bed met de topper en kussens waren goed voorbereid. Dus dank daarvoor.
Bij het ontbijtbuffet: daarvoor moet je 25 min wachten voordat je je omelet krijgt. Soms ben ik voor zaken hier. En dan heb ik echt geen tijd om 25 min te wachten. Het brood is echt heel hard en uitgedroogd zeker omdat sommige broden inner warmhoudlamp staat.
Wat So formule voor mij heel anders maakt is jullie exceptionele service en attentie naar ieder detail. Bijvoorbeeld zeggen “ welkom terug mevrouw…” of het welkomsdrankje in de lounge waarin jullie het inschenken en uitleg geven plus een handdoekje. Waarbij jullie ook zijn gestopt.
Samenvattend al met al vond ik het echt heel jammer. En zou ik niemand aanraden om überhaupt So Bangkok nog te bezoeken.
