The lobby and pool area are the only 5 stars. The rooms are dirty, ours was full of ants, the beds are sinking, and it just doesn’t feel like a Sofitel. The breakfast was really nice. Management is ok they just didn’t or weren’t authorized to rectify or compensate for all the issues.

Old rooms and horrible smell

The reception is amazing but once you leave the elevator you start smelling a horrible smell in the corridor and the carpets are dirty and the rooms old.

We are frequent visitors of this site as this hotel is very special to our family. We visit each year and this time, the service was beyond disappointing. Not up to par with the standards of this brand. To start off, at check in, we were told we can add breakfast for a certain price of we decided then, so we did. At check out, the rate was much higher, we explained it to them and the lady at the front desk told me she cannot make the adjustment as we had to do it at booking...a big communication issue. Second, the thermostat was not working...it was so hot, my family did not sleep well at all, we had to open the window which was noisy and again, we did not sleep well/rest well at all. Third, we went to the seafood restaurant and our service was awful! We had to wait over 10 minute for someone to even come to our table after we had to flag them down. Other tables were being served bread and my table was not and we had to ask for a bread basket for our very hungry 2 year old. The food took forever and was not good - my fish was chewy. Fourth, I asked at 2 for our room to be cleaned and for the sheets to be changed as our daughter got sick and when we came back at 8:30/9, the cleaning lady was in the room. We had a sick baby who had to wait at night to enter our room at night while the cleaner would finish. fifth, we called the front desk at night - around 11 pm to request a bottle opener, after calling for over 30 minutes, no one answered, I had to walk down in my pj's and slippers, to ask for something I should have got over a call where someone should have answered. Also, i wanted to book a spa service for my wife, which i was told at check in that would be 50% if we booked that day, when i went to the front desk at night because no one answered, i was told we had to book before 9pm - again, a communication/training issue. Terrible service and will look for another place as opposed to this for our next stay. Unfortunate.

First of all when i arrived in Rabat i thought that i was in haven. The city is the cleanest city i have ever seen in my life. Your hotel there tells what Rabat is all about. Exceptional experience from the moment i checked in. Room is clean, staff knowledgeable and quality of food is excellent. I would like to specifically point out Fatema Alzehra in guest relation who helped me feel welcome and at home. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable and experienced. I also like to thank the buffet staff at breakfast, specislly khadijah and the juice station who he went out of his way to make special juices for me. Thank you Sofitel for a great stay!!!
