I am extremely disappointed with my stay at ibis Buenos Aires Obelisco, located near the Obelisco in Buenos Aires. Among all the Ibis hotels I have stayed at around the globe — and I have traveled to more than 50 countries — this one has been, without question, the worst experience. The area felt unsafe. I was robbed in broad daylight nearby, which was deeply distressing and shocking. When we returned to the hotel and asked if we could call the police, the staff did not even properly acknowledge what had happened. They showed no concern and largely ignored us. There was no empathy, no practical guidance, and no support at all. In such a situation, this level of indifference is unacceptable. The room itself was extremely small and uncomfortable. The mattresses were very hard, making it difficult to rest. The towels were rough and felt worn out, almost scratchy. The shower was poorly maintained, with holders falling off, which clearly reflects a lack of proper upkeep. Overall, this stay fell far below the standard I have come to expect from the Accor brand. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.
