I like smaller hotels so I liked being at Ibis Sydney Barangaroo. Less people, less noise and people traffic. Easy to check in and out. The lobby also was nice to come down, sit and read with a flat white and small breakfast. Being just one block away/close to the water walk was also perfect. Close enough to pop down and take a walk or have dinner but far enough away not to be in the mix of people and noise. My only issue was your showers are so small the water sprayed on the floor when opening the door to get in and when I was in my shoulders almost touched the door and the wall. This is the smallest shower I have ever seen in any hotel. It is also plastic so that feels cheep.

Good stay at the Ibis - Reading the reviews I thought the noise would be an issue from the outside, it was fine from my room. In terms of the hallway and lifts you can hear a lot, thin walls. The rooms are very outdated and are minimal (similar to a hostel). To stay at the Ibis is similar pricing to let's say the Hyatt 4-5 star and for that reason I do not think it should be over $150 a night. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful! Good location to Barangaroo - unfortunately due to the price point I would spend $40-$50 more and stay at another hotel close by.

The staff was super responsive and helpful leading up to the booking and during stay. Breakfast was great and staff lovely. The rooms were petite but super functional. The hotel has a great location and was in close vicinity to the event our staff was attending.
