I probably expected more from the brand and the hotel. Im fine with basic, but this one is just below the basic, sorry to say. Room is spacious which is good, TV is too big (doesnt have to be, and I dont know why it has to be), but the shower is just too cramped plus the curtain doesn't really help. No hooks, not even 1 to put towels or anything like used clothes or clothes to change to. So uncomfortable. Had the room cleaned/cleared, shoes were just separated from the pair, my nephews clothes were on the floor (from the bed) they could have put it back on the bed or left it on the chair, some rubbish still remained, didnt clean mugs and spoons,not put back in the original places. And didnt give us a bath mat. Ive stayed with hotels in melbourne cbd that have the same rate or sometimes cheaper but have better amenities and Ive had better experience than this. Just was disappointing as it was my first to book on the accor website not even booking.com or other third party website so I would have thought, it was better and Id give it a try.

Was being disturbed by staff while DND sign was on. I have been told in checkout stage that, the checkin process has made mistake by staff, my room that I was staying is not under my name. Luckily nothing happens in the stay.

The hotel served its purpose, but is definitely budget. Not much cheaper than better hotels.

I had a comfortable stay at the ibis budget Melbourne CBD. The location is absolutely unbeatable — right in the heart of the city with easy access to trams, shopping and great food options. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. The only downside was that my bedside lamps didn’t work, which was a little inconvenient, but overall the hotel offered good value for money. I’d happily stay again for a simple, no-frills city break.

I arrived and there was basically a laundromat outside my room. There were 8 trolleys that did not move. There was a tiny window in the very small retro room. It looked onto a dark alley way and an old aircon vent and as I was on level one drunk people were yelling outside. The heating system was so noisy I could not sleep. There was apparently no noise insulation to the next room and there was banging and yelling in the bed in the middle of the night. I've had more pleasant stays in youth hostels. As I had no sleep I immediately changed hotels the next day. I booked for 4 nights and stayed one. I lost the rest of my money. The staff seemed very nice though. I've strayed at other ibis before and I I've had no problem. The room in this place felt more like a cross between a half way house and a youth hostel. Maybe there were other better rooms on other floors. I will not be going back there.
