Sadly this second stay at Sofitel fell well short of our prior experience. The staff were not engaged the food was sub par, xmas Eve party and one turkey only. No guest sports games , the GM walked away round on occasion seemingly doing nothing . The rooms as v tired and in desperate need of an upgrade. The staff through no fault of their own have not been trained and half of them apparently don't have any hospitality experience. But this is the GM and management's issue. They tried their best god bless them. Only positive was the wibit at the pool was a great addition and kept the kids happy. Also must say the kids club staff were wonderful. So many thanks to them . Some restaurants were also be closed so you are forced to eat at the buffer or go off-site which we did almost entirely.

Pleasant Stay with a few Shortcomings

First of all, thank you for your hospitality. We could enjoy a few pleasant days at your hotel, although there were a few things that were unsatisfying. The welcome was very kind, efficient, and we were immediately upgraded to a suite in accordance to my diamond status benefits. We were welcomed with a kind note and decoration that made for a great entry. The suite was nicely equipped, although you can definitely see that this hotel has come a bit to age. Room service was however very quick and available upon any request. The garden is nicely maintained and makes for a great sight. The pool area is certainly one of a kind, given it's impressive size. Most disappointing was unfortunately the breakfast, which was not up to standards, either for Sofitel or a 5-star hotel. I do understand that shortcuts need to be taken during Covid to stay profitable, however I'd prefer a smaller selection at the buffet with higher quality. The selection was very simple, not well prepared, and was the low point of the stay. We therefore also did not even bother to try out the other restaurants at the hotel. The bar however made for pleasant stays in the evening, accompanied by great live music. The member lounge as well was a nice area to spend time at. The selection of food & drinks was well crafted, showing what I expected the breakfast to be like. I understand that hotel tours are generally more expensive than locally organized trips. However, asking prices were horrific, exceeding local fares almost 20-fold for equivalent experiences.

We came just for New Year's eve at the Sofitel and we had a very good time, the room are decorated in a charming old style with plenty of space. The swimming pool is huge and allows for plenty of swimming with beautiful Thai decoration. This is definitely a place to bring your kids with plenty of activities for them and the beach just a short hop from the resort.

We had a wonderfull stay in a beautifull hotel with a huge swimming pool. We get upgraded to a swimming pool acces room. Everybody was so friendly and helpfull. Thanks a lot to make this holiday realy perfect. For breakfast we had many choice between Asian and western food. This hotel is perfect when you want to relax or stay in a quiet surrounding but still close to Ao Nang

We stayed 16 days over Christmas and New year. Rooms are nice. Food in restaurants and pool menu only average. Breakfast buffet good. Not all restaurants were open but we accept that in difficult times. All staff were lovely. 5 stars hotels in Thailand obviously have difficulties keeping up standards with few guest in Covid times.

We has two great weeks at Sofitel. The absolute best is the staff. Super friendly and very service minded. We had a room on bottom floor facing the pool which was very nice. The room was big enough for the four of us. We ate almost every lunch at the poolbar which was perfect for us with two children. On the evenings we ate mostly at the Italian and Asian restaurants, we did not feel the buffet restaurant was the best and the range of food there was a bit poor. On the downside it was very difficult at times to understand what was included and not in the All Inclusive. We got mixed messages most of the days. At the end most was included which was great. Also on the downside we had to wait occasionally very long to be served even though it wasn’t a lot of people. Also, more than once our orders was mixed up and sometimes forgotten. The pool is great, the beach is ok. We also took the hotel tour to Hong Island which was great.

Excellent staff, very comfortable room, excellent division between children and adult zones, excuisite pool, top class massage facility and staff (not least massage therapist Saow ***). We really had some great day in this hotel. The reason, I did not give you a 10 is simple.: nobody is that perfect, that there is no room for improvement. I might suggest a couple of minor things, which could help you to improve, if at all necessary. The floor in the shower is of beautiful marble. This has the disadvantage that, when it is wett, it is really getting very slippery and therefore rather dangerous. The chairs on the terrace are a beautiful design. Unfortuntely, however, they are very unomfortable. Some matrasses or pillows would solve this problem

Well located hotel, with all sorts of facilities to cater to every age group and taste. The swimming pool is especially huge, with numerous activities available to keep everyone busy all day. Biking tours are available to explore the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our stay started on a positive note with the warm welcome from Amita who checked us in and then was available throughout our stay to ask us how we were doing. And, then we bumped into Executive Chef Wade, who again could be seen every time we went for meals, and with his warm smile and friendliness, was there to help us with anything. Thank you Amita and Wade for making our stay enjoyable and fun. We look forward to going back there and exploring more of beautiful Krabi!

We were in Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort in December for my daughter birthday. This is my 3rd times in this hotel. We rented a car from the Airport. We really had a great time here. We enjoyed the excursion to koh Hong, club lounge usage, exploring the landscape and speding time in kids club. However there are still some improvement that the hotel could assemble such as the soap and lotion pump in hotel toilet is not working. The bathroom with no water drain. We sure will come back for another celebration some other time.

Family and Grand parent with teens accommodated here 5 rooms for 2 nights experience cleanliness and comfort sleep here, good breakfast with lots of selection. Hong Island Speed boat package is good and recommended.

I stay at 11 - 14 April 2021. as Platinum membership tier. But Room can't upgrade due to long weekend season, this one can acceptable. But for toilet amenities should be upgrade from cheaper one to Loccitane. Because while i stay i must to ask from housekeeping everyday. Front Staff should be train to improve service level and quality. Because Sofitel in Luxury tier but front desk service quality not different from hotel premium tier.

We have wanted to stay at this hotel for some years and we were not disappointed in this stay. During the current COVID crisis the hotel is taking every step to keep the hotel spotlessly clean and safe for uts guests and we had a great time during our stay The GM and his team were very visible all the time by walking around and making themself accessible to both the staff and the guests, it was no surprise to us to see the positive results this leadership has produced The pool and various games, sports and activities are all excellent and the choice of foods met all our expectations. We would be very happy to go again.

Tranquility in Krabi

This property is in the quiet area of Krabi, which was nice. It was especially quiet I assume since its the pandemic season a lockdown in Bangkok was eminent so I guess a lot of the Bangkok-based guests left earlier. You can feel that the hotel was not up to the normal level of personnel working as when we arrived there was no bellboy seen onsite and service in the restaurants was very slow. But tried their best so I guess that is what you can hope for.
