The staff were very welcoming. Room size was perfect for my needs however the fact that the curtains didn’t close all the way and I need to wear an eye mask was disappointing. The toilet paper is very harsh. The shower head kept moving around and flowing on to the tiles. Shower baths are bad. Otherwise the breakfast was amazing and I love the convenience of the 5 minute walk to the train station.

I'd like to share some feedback on my recent stay at Novotel Budapest, where I had booked a 3-night stay. We arrived very late, around midnight on Friday, and were assigned room 706 on the 7th floor. Unfortunately, the room was extremely disappointing. As a Gold member of the Accor group, this is honestly one of the worst rooms I’ve ever had. Although I was aware the room might be small when booking, the layout made it feel even more cramped, with many structural blocks. The views were particularly unpleasant—each of the three windows faced either a wall or an abandoned building—which made the room feel very closed and suffocating. The following morning, I informed the reception team that I did not feel comfortable staying in that room. While I understand the hotel may have been fully booked, there was very little willingness to help. Only after insisting was I told I might be moved to another room on Sunday, despite my stay being for three nights. This was quite disappointing. I was also surprised by the lack of hospitality. As a Gold member, I normally expect at least a welcome drink or some kind of acknowledgment, but there was none. Breakfast was another issue. The breakfast area is quite small compared to other Novotel hotels, and it was very difficult to find a seat. Guests were often required to share tables. In addition, the food was not well replenished—for example, at one point there was only one piece of bread left, and no effort to restock promptly. What I found particularly surprising was that on Monday morning, the buffet was only refilled after senior staff passed through the restaurant shortly before breakfast was due to close. Overall, this experience did not reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. The only positive aspect is the location, which is very good. Aside from that, I was very disappointed and would not return. Comfortable stay, nice and clean hotel, well situated opposite the parliament buildings, my only reservation was the breakfast area, which was totally crowded during the weekend.

The hotel was adequate in general and the restaurant was nice. The tour company chose this hotel. By default because of the football game in town. The air conditioning was poor—my room was very warm despite a fan and difficult to sleep.
