Short stopover for work purposes. I was given room 6 on the ground floor, backing onto the elevators. This is a very noisy room. I struggled to sleep, and then in the morning from around 7am there was a constant stream of people & trolleys coming past my room too making lots of noise, so not ideal.

Not the Mercure standing that we are used to

The room had not towels in it when we arrived. The bedsheets had several strains of hair on it. Only a bottle of water in the fridge ? Also, when we arrived to check in, the night receptionnist didn't really acknowledged us right away, we almost pass him by thinking it was just another customer working on his laptop. We already stated in several Mercure hotels around the world and the experience is different. I get that it's not Bangkok or Tokyo, but it's still a Mercure....

We love this hotel. Having stayed many times we have an idea of what one should expect. A completely new staff on this latest visit who were all delightful but under too much pressure from the modern trend of understaffing in the restaurant at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Four star rating requires four star staffing levels. A management decision that should be reviewed to upkeep a good reputation and to respect the efforts of the existing team.

Comfortable room and nice staff but TV was out of order and the staff could not fix it. However I got a small discount on the room (8 euros) to compensate this problem.

Very nice staff, charming environment, good atmosphere, good food, but too many dysfunctions: - poorly maintained (lamp bubbles not replaced - despite we were told it will be done, tap half broken, shower getting out of the wall, painting damaged in the corridors giving an overall bad impression, could easily be fixed, etc..) - young staff not properly trained and not supervised (diner - staff busy preparing tables for the breakfast instead of taking care of us, breakfast staff not experienced and not motivated - water, plates, missing without notice, hygienic issue : no towel, people taking bread and other pastries with their hands, etc..) - Nice and warm welcome, pleasant interaction with all the staff during our stay, - Nice Haloween decoration, bar, lounge with good atmosphere

Slopey ceiling and poor tea facilities

My single room had a sloping ceiling which makes the room feel claustrophobic. The tea making facilities were poor. Firstly, there was no proper tea, it was green or herbal, and two small paper cups were provided instead of a decent mug (not a small cup).

The location is good for those visiting the town and Chateau. Staff were helpful, pleasant and the room was in good condition. However we picked the hotel for an overnight stop-off on the way back to England. Website says the hotel has parking (other Mercures we have used have their own on-site parking) but it turned out to be in the public car park opposite. Maybe not a problem except we couldn't use it because there was a market the following morning (as every week!). So two nights a week there is NO parking at all. Website does not make that clear. For us this was stressful a) because I am recovering from an operation and can't do heavy lifting as I used to when I was younger and b) because it was hard to find parking at all - Bergerie Nationale being full. Also, we had to leave lower- value items in the car overnight which was not a good thing. The lack of proper unloading and loading provision at reception simply compounds the problem. Then, discovering the front of the hotel had been cordoned off for a car show added insult to injury. So, I can't imagine returning with a car and the brand has been damaged because a basic need (parking) has not been met.

The good news is that the hotel is a short 2 minute walk from President Macron's Summer Chateau and gardens. Excellent location. The reception on arrival was excellent = very friendly and very fast. The room was a good size. The not so good....There was only one small bottle of water in the empty otherwise 'minibar'. It would have been nice if the minibar had been plugged in and therefore cold?? The bath was a good surprise...two small soaps, but little else. The room was tired and badly in need of a make-over. By the way the TV had ywo English speaking channels, one of which seemed focussed on take the mickey out of Boris and Brexit! We didn't sample the restaurant as there were local restaurants with better ratings. Oh and the car park is the public one across the road. Fortunately, they do have a couple of trolleys to transport your bags from the car park to the hotel. The room was a three star room or less, and quite pricey. Would we stay again? Probably not. The area to the west of Paris is full of Chateaux and lovey woods, we would prefer to find a hotel a bit closer to those.

Excellent check in staff. Good start. The room was a good size, but a bit basic and tired. Two soaps, but little else. Cardboard cups for tea, cheap plastic 'glasses' for tumblers. Nice bed, but pretty basic. Only one small bottle of water for two people? Mini-bar - room temperature as not plugged in. Food not tried.
