Comfortable, clean room. The room itself did seem a little tired and disappointed not to find a safe. Helpful, friendly staff. Restaurant/ bar good for both dinner and breakfast.

This hotel barely deserves 2 stars. Everything is painted black or brown. Very drab and depressing rooms. The building is old and these dark colors can hide lots of defects. There is no lobby. There is no work space. The breakfast buffet was decent, but too crowded. Not enough space to move around it. Overall, a very poor experience.

Given the bad weather conditions having conviente secure parking and a restaurant were a blessing. The only thing is the portions for the main courses seemed a little small.

The hotel is easy to locate with or without a satnav plus has good off street parking. The building is historically interesting that appears to have been sympathetically refurbished to a good standard and found very comfortable. The hotel staff are a credit to themselves and the hotel group and deserve notable recognition. The hotel is also very well positioned to visit the historic central and cathedral plus Sunday market square.
