We were allocated a room with a faulty flush, an issue that the staff were already aware of, but they still chose tonput us in that room. The fault could not be fixed and we had to change rooms at 10.30 pm. The second room was cold, the TV did not function. and the kettle didn’t work. You really couldn’t have made us more unwelcome if you tried. We have stayed in Accor hotels regularly for decades but this experience was the worst, the Mercure brand used to be aspirational, but no longer. You seem not to be interested in what you do.

It is completely unacceptable that you were initially allocated a room with a known flushing issue, and I fully understand your frustration at having to change rooms late in the evening. Furthermore, discovering additional problems in the second room, with the heating, television and kettle, only added to your disappointment and discomfort. Please be assured that this experience does not reflect the standards of service and hospitality we aim to provide at our hotel, nor the values associated with the Mercure brand. Your comments have been shared with our maintenance and reception teams so that immediate corrective actions can be taken and to prevent such situations from happening again. We deeply regret having let you down, especially as a loyal Accor guest for many years. I truly hope you will allow us the opportunity to regain your trust during a future stay. Conveniently located but EV charger prices aren't disclosed anywhere and we discovered that we'd need to pay an additional fee of €30 per day if we wanted to use the EV chargers. That is already on top of the €15 we were paying for parking. The availability of a charger was one of the selling points for us when booking and we would've booked elsewhere if we new that would be the case. Signage for the available hotel parking could be clearer. On site you can fine the above ground parking easily enough (although it is a bit of a pain navigating one way streets around the hotel). But the underground parking is not marked at all and even after being told where it is, it wasn't obvious.

We were very surprised to read your comment regarding the EV charging fees, as the pricing is clearly displayed on our website, at both hotel entrances, and again at reception. We would also like to clarify that the €30 fee covers both the parking space and the charging service, and is not only for charging the vehicle. Regarding the roadworks in the city, unfortunately this is beyond our control. However, access to the hotel remains straightforward, and our guests generally find the hotel easily by following the official diversion signs. A nice stay with helpful staff in good location. Bad points The bed sheets don’t fit the bed and you end up sleeping on a bare mattress which is quite unsanitary. The hotel is generally in need of refurbishment- not air conditioning in a four star hotel. The gym equipment broke while in use.
