Unfortunately the reception is understaffed

The staff is very friendly and helpful - if you can reach them. The rception ist understaffed and you simply can not reach them, not from the room and not from outside. It is like they decided to switch off their telephone line. It was not not llike this before. I normally book this hotrl because of their service quality, but this time, it was just to hard to get things done. Also the breakfast - which was truly a great hotel buffet breakfast a couple of years ago - is not as fabulous as it used to be!

I havestayed in this hotel several times and this time the size of the bed was smaller. I did not have a wardrobe nor got a sewing kit when requested.

On my stay between Friday 14th of Feb to Monday 17th of Feb I felt disappointed because: 1. The morning of the 14th I changed to the room where I stayed for the weekend, I asked in reception to stay in my previous room until late noon because of work meetings, which was agreed, but eventually the hotel stuff got into the room even if the "do not disturb" sign was there. 2. In the new room the WC wasn't clean, I informed to the reception but it wasn't fixed, neither improved the cleaning during the subsequent days. 3. When I did the reservation I informed that it was my wife's and my birthday during the weekend, they commit to have some appreciation but it didn't happen. I wouldn't complain on this by default, but there was a commitment. No one was force to promise anything, but if done, it's needs to be honored. I flight, because of business reasons, to Cologne every two months, approximately, I stayed at Pullman most of the times but now I'm considering other options for my upcoming visits.

The hotel is fine. The location is fine as well. There are nearby bakery, restaurants and bars. To get to the Cathedral area is about a 15 minute walk. We would stay there again if we return to Cologne
