Hello! When I arrived on Monday 21st early evening, I noticed that the room hadn't been cleaned well. There were still some peanuts residues on the chair and on the desk, as well as on the carpet near the cabinet and inside the cabinet itself. In addition, there was a lot of dust on the desk, on the coffee box, on the machine etc. The carpet was also quite dirty, it looked like it hadn't been vacuum-cleaned for days and days. In addition, I noted also that the white plastic curtains were really dirty on the top and they could really do with some washing. I reported it to Reception next morning, they kindly offered to change the room but I asked to just make sure the room was cleaned as I was happy to stay in the same room. When I got back in the evening I noticed that the desk and the coffee box were clean but the floor and the cabinet hadn't even been touched. I have pictures of some of the above problems if you'd ever like to see them! There also were other problems with the wifi and the TV (you should offer a little more than just German channels, maybe the news also in English, i.e.: CNN etc., and maybe add Netflix or something?). The wires of the telephone were disconnected and just left on the floor near the bedside cabinet. Also, the air-conditioner's really old and considering the state of the room, I didn't action it because I was afraid that maybe it didn't undergo any maintenance, with all the consequences that this could cause. Maybe some of the rooms need refurbishing? But these are side problems compared to the cleanliness of the room. If the room isn't clean, the guest will never feel comfortable, and I didn't feel comfortable at all for 3 nights. I repeat, the Reception team were absolutely kind and helpful, for which I'm thankful. But it's the first time I stay at an ACCOR hotel and face these issues because usually ACCOR is very careful on these things!! I average 80/100 nights a year in hotels and I think I have enough experience to know what I'm talking about. I always enjoyed staying at ACCOR hotels year after year when in Cologne, it's been either Mercure Friesentrasse or Mercure Severinshof, and I even stayed at the Novotel many years back! Therefore, I do hope that issues such as the ones I've described above are only temporary and they will be sorted soon, as I would only be happy to stay there again in future. Kind regards!

Staff always friendly and helpful, although 'check in' process was somewhat slow. As expected from a hotel of this standard, the room was clean and comfortable. I could not use the bath or shower as I have mobility problems and the high step into the bath was impossible for me. The provision of complementary coffee sachets and tea bags in the room was a little 'mean', especially for a 4-nights stay, and we had to ask for 'top ups' more than once. Nonetheless we would be happy to stay again if we return to Cologne in the future.

The poorer reviews for this hotel seem to relate to 2019 or earlier. I'm pleased to report that things appear to have significantly improved during the intervening 5 years. Check-in procedure is a bit slow, but the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was as one might expect from a hotel of this standard, clean & comfortable without any unnecessary 'trimmings'. As stated in some previous revues, the shower is impossible to use by anyone with more than slight mobility problems because of the very high step into it, but maybe the hotel can offer other more 'disabled-friendly' rooms if asked; we didn't. By staying for more than 3 nights the room rate was reduced for the following night(s). We didn't have any breakfasts so cannot comment thereon, but they were a bit 'stingy' with the supply of complementary sachets of tea/coffee etc.; we had to ask more than once for 'top ups'. Notwithstanding any of the little problems, we would certainly stay there again if in Cologne.
