Despite having a passport and a reservation confirmation email as well as the fact that my reservation was using corporate account between my employer and the hotel management - I was initially refused the ability to check in, because as a recently married person, my passport surname did not match my reservation surname. Despite explaining that to the rude receptionist, and offering other confirmation such as email, reservation details, I was refused to check in. Last thing I need after a day full of travel and meetings is this kind of nonsense - I had to escalate it with the management of the hotel to resolve it. Bureaucracy at its worst- I will not be staying at the hotel again, and I will inform my corporate account manager about my experience as well.
