We stayed at this hotel for one night and had the absolute best experience. The hotel it's self is absolutely beautiful and in a great location for business travel or leisure. The manager Sabastian was top notch along with the evening bar staff. We had a great evening talking with them, and they gave us great suggestions for places to eat and things to do in or 24 hours in the city. We had 2 rooms, one for my husband and I and one for our teenage daughters. Both rooms were beautiful, comfortable and prefect for what we needed. 100% recommend this hotel.

Just love this hotel and enjoyed our second stay here. The ambience is amazing, more intimate luxury country manor house than hotel - it combines top luxury with a very unique and relaxed informal feel. And this is enhanced by being right on the Tiergarten and next to the Zoo - quite amazing to be watching the ostriches strut past the big bay window in the bar while enjoying a good drink! Location is also very convenient, with the Kürfestendamm and KaDeWe being an easy walk away. There were only two downsides on this stay - first there was a big corporate function one night and the bar/restaurant were effectively relocated to another salon with less ambience; second our junior suite 418 suffered two malfunctions which maintenance were unable to resolve (defective air conditioning control panel and defective hand shower in the bath tub). These failures were not acceptable in a hotel of this standard. We were offered an upgrade to another suite for the last night but only saw the email later that evening as we were too busy wandering around the Christmas markets - so too late to accept this gesture.

Entire Rovaniemi flights were canceled and we couldn’t get flight to Berlin until 2 days later. We called multiple times and they sounded very rude and didn’t care at all and demanded us to pay for two nights two rooms as we booked refundable. This is not our fault the Lapland airport got closed and there was zero way for us to get to Berlin. They said that they do believe that we can’t get to Berlin due to weather condition and flights but it’s not their problem. There was no flexibility or even some kind of comfort. This vacation was booked for my birthday and it’s two rooms five nights and lots of money. There was no bday cake no breakfast credit nothing and we didn’t even check for the first two night for two rooms and they even requested us to pay city tax when we were not even in the city!!! Even Berlin zoo non refundable tickets issued us credits to be used. Why can’t a big hotel work around a situation that we can’t control!! There should be some kind of hotel credit or work around or the attitude should at least be better When we finally arrived the front desk was slow and new (one other was teaching her what to do) they only gave us one key instead of two for one room and in the beginning could NOT find two rooms at the same floor then after 30 min then they said oops actually they do have two rooms on the same floor. Also same thing happened at check out they said they can consolidate two bills then after 25 min then they said they didn’t know how to consolidate and receive payments and after we paid them separately then they said they didn’t know how to deduct the balance as the bills were consolidated now etc we were late for our plane so had to leave before they can figure it out. We would like the GM to give us a proper response before we put our review in public

Lobby entrance, bar and restaurant areas are nicely designed, welcoming and comfortable. Bedrooms are simply not up the standard for a 5 star hotel- dirty rugs and cheap wardrobe/closet hinges. Bathroom fittings are not even 3 star hotel (broke toilet seat hinges, shower doors that don’t seal properly)
