Views are unparalleled, the breeze when we sat down to dine or have breakfast, was surreal. The staffs are very helpful. The food options in the breakfast area and couple of other restaurants were top notch. However, the hotel has a mass market vibe with lots of people, casino. And the room needs better cleaning and bit of an upgrade. It definitely did not feel 5 star standard inside the room. But beds and linens were super comfy.

Sofitel El-Gizerah in the heart of Cairo almost surrounded by the great Egyptian Nile , as All rooms can see the Nile partially or see the full panoramic views of all Cairo. We spent 3 nights checked in through the Sofitel’s club (as Accor Platinum member) . The reception of Ms Hend Tarek , Zekra Ahmed , and catering staff Mahmoud Maghawary , Tamer El Sayed, Reda , Yasser and Abd Allah Ashraf all keen to help cheerfully .
Food and drink quality was excellent wither breakfast , after noon tea or Apero Chic all well presented and tasty .
The hotel location was excellent to tour all highlights and attractions of Cairo including the Grand Egyptian Museum,Pyramids , Egyptian Civilisation Museum, Old Cairo Mohamad Ali Citadel and Mid Cairo.
Furthermore, at night the views from the balcony with lighten boats and Nile fountain was amazing plus you can dine in enough dinning options overlooking the Nile.
Thank to all staff and management for providing that service in that great location. Sure will come back while visiting Cairo as still many sites and attractions need to be seen.

Needs a refurb. We had an issue with our lights not turning on but they did fix it quickly. Had hot water issues, just not a 5* experience. The finishing of the hotel is a bit sloppy, painting etc isn’t great. Can do with a refurb. Room was very dark and a bit dull.
Food presentation was good but breakfast selection is smaller than other 5* hotels we’ve been to. The waitresses couldn’t speak English well so it was hard to even get a brewed cup of tea without it being watered down.
Wouldn’t go again. Expected international standards but it fell short of this.
The terrace and outside resturant is pretty though.

A hotel that keeps getting better every time we stay
We have stayed at Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah several times, and after our last two stays, I really felt I had to share our experience.
Our first stay was in June 2026, when we celebrated both our anniversary and my wife’s birthday. We booked a Nile View Room with Club Millésime access, and the entire experience was exceptional. The hotel surprised us with a complimentary cake for our anniversary, and the team at the Club made my wife’s birthday really special. Our personal butler, Yasser Eldessouky, was fantastic throughout the stay. He was attentive, genuinely helpful, and made us feel very well looked after without ever being intrusive.
We enjoyed the stay so much that we came back again in September 2026, this time to celebrate my birthday, and once again booked the same room. Before our stay, my wife contacted Hend Tarek from the Club and asked her to make my birthday special. Hend and the team truly went above and beyond. They surprised me with an incredible birthday setup and cake, and it was honestly one of the nicest birthday surprises I have ever received from a hotel.
Our personal butler for this stay at the club, Tamer El Sayed, was also excellent. He was extremely attentive, professional, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout our club visits.
What I appreciate most about Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah is that the team doesn’t just provide good service; they pay attention to the reason behind your stay and make the occasion feel genuinely personal.
We are regular ALL Accor guests, and having stayed at many Accor properties, I can honestly say that the level of service at this hotel is among the best I have experienced within the entire Accor group. What makes it even more impressive is the consistency. Two stays, three months apart, for two different celebrations, and both were genuinely memorable.
A very special thank you to Yasser Eldessouky, Tamer El Sayed, and Hend Tarek for going the extra mile and making our celebrations so special. And thank you to the entire Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah team for the outstanding hospitality.
We will definitely be back. Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah has become more than just a hotel for us; it has become one of our favourite places to celebrate our special moments.

I am an Egyptian Australian that has a TMC in Australia. I got two australian friends working in the same field to come to visit Egypt and we all stayed at the beautiful Sofitel.
The hotel is amazing and everything was pretty good. However I wanted to bring to your attention two very important comments that hopefully you would give them your attention.
The service in the main restaurant and the in the terrace in the evening is really average specially when the waiters give more attention to Arab guests and ignore others for obvious reasons of course that we all know well.
The hotel location is fabulous but the surroundings are awful and I was very embarrassed taking them out for a walk . I do believe that as a hotel you need to invest a bit to make the surroundings a bit clean and appropriate to the level of the hotel.
I am giving you my personal opinion since I sell your property to my clients in Australia
I really hope that you can give those two matters some attention
