The most horrible hotel experience in my life. We arrived at the hotel straight from the airport before midnight. We couldn't check in via the stupid self-check-in kiosk since it was trying to charge us 475 euros per room, even though the reservation had already been paid! We barely managed to reach out to support on the 5th try using the whizzing wall radio and explained that we urgently needed support. Finally, the receptionist appeared to assist us and did so in a very suspicious way, like we were trying to enter the hotel illegally. Eventually, he checked our passports and provided us with the room PINs, and we went there completely tired and exhausted. Our rooms were supposed to be the same, with double beds, but in fact my colleagues got the rooms with the duplex beds. There wasn't even a bottle of water in the rooms. I'm not talking about the simple things like a hairdryer, slippers and a fridge! My windows faced the construction outside, which started every early morning, so I couldn't rest well due to that noise. Breakfasts are so poor that probably nursing homes have better variety. For a rate of 160 euros per night with such a far location from the city centre, it's a real robbery. I will never get back to this hotel in my life.

I was expecting much less. Instead, the lady at the reception was kind and efficient, the room was small but clean and neat and the breakfast was totally OK. Even the neighborhood is quite nice.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. I loved that I was able to open my window a bit, that makes it more fresh inside. The breakfast was basic but good. I would have loved to have seen more fresh fruit, however there were not many people looking for fresh fruit. I had apples, pears and a kiwi one day.

Very nice and helpful staff. It is budget and the price is very good, so no luxury but clean and tidy, nice breakfast and the room was nice. Only thing is the shower"box" in the room had been really akward if I had travelled with someone I knew less. Which very well could have been since we went for at sportscompetion.

Sehr geehrte Frau C., vielen Dank für Ihre positive Rückmeldung zu Ihrem Aufenthalt in unserem Hotel. Nothing much to say outside of the mix-up with the other Ibis hotel in the same town that is on my part (though the website could make it more obvious it's not the same location).

We value your input and will take it into consideration as we continuously work to improve our communication on the website. Goodbye and best regards, ibis budget Hamburg City Ost
