ibis Hamburg Alsterring Hotel 2 stars

check in desk: very friendly and helpful. Same with the Bar/Restaurant personnel. Was pleased (and surprised) to discover that this Hotel is pet friendly! :) Made my (admittedly short) stay even much more pleaseant. Very good location (at least for me, as I had to be in that specific area). Shopping & Restaurants a-plenty around. Definitely would recommend. COMSEUR

Pluses: can find travel leaflets on recepcion desk, room and bathroom were clean. Minuses: no hotwater in common access, needed to ask recepcionist to give me cups with hot water. Expensive breakfast. No electric point near the bed.

A good reasonably-priced hotel in a convenient location on the direct S-Bahn line from the airport to the city centre. Simply furnished, but clean rooms with comfy beds and efficient showers. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there is a café bar area next to the reception. The Ibis is only 200m from Wansbeker Chaussee U-Bahn and S-Bahn station with direct connections to all the major tourist sights, and close to plenty of shops, too. A good budget option for a short break.

Room was clean and the hotel was located conveniently near public transportation.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is ideally located- close to the airport and city centre. The staff is very friendly. I had called the day before arrival to request an early check-in as we were going to a wedding at 4pm and had to get ready. We booked 4 rooms in total for the family and when we arrived just before 1pm all rooms were ready which was very good. So thanks to the young lady who made it possible and asked for the rooms to be cleaned first! The breakfast buffet was very impressive and the food good- Ibis Hotels in the UK serve a minimalistic breakfast. Hence my husband and I were impressed

excellent staff, very good breakfast, standard Ibis room, small bathroom with large shower cabin and very good water pressure, quick check in-and-out, covered outside place for smoking, with table and chairs, quick access to airport and City center by S1 and U1, short walk to S bahn station

Hotel was convenient as only a short walk from the local station. Staff very pleasant and rooms were pleasant - air conditioning was most welcome. Could sit and relax downstairs in the evening. Only negatives were breakfast area was a little small and choice at breakfast was limited.
