We've stayed before, same time of year, and overall good on both occasions. The hotel is modern, clean and the location is difficult to beat, very well connected to all parts of Hamburg and the airport. Rooms are comfortable. On our first stay we had a great double room on the front corner of the hotel - plenty of space, well laid out and no complaints. On our recent stay we had a twin on the back of the hotel. Overall fine but less practical - limited storage space and little space both between beds and between beds and wall. Overall staff were friendly during the limited contact we had with them. But - we had a big problem with the heat - the room was constantly between 23.5 - 25 (according to the in-room thermostat) and the only way we could cool the room was to leave the window open - very well soundproofed when closed... but when open you hear every single train movement. Unable to sleep due to the noise and heat, the second night I asked at reception if there was anything we could do (this is also when I found out the aircon is off in winter and we'd just been recirculating the air). After a few minutes, the receptionist very helpfully found one of the few mobile aircons not in storage and gave it to me for the remainder of the stay - this was a godsend and I'm grateful to him! But maybe the lack of aircon even in winter needs rethinking.

I stayed at ibis for a short trip and my friend from Amsterdam joined so. The booking is under my name. My friend's wallet was picked up by a guest at the hotel and passed it onto the reception. When we approached the reception and sought for printing services, Hassib intelligently connected the printing document requirement to police station reporting (as losing wallet) to the wallet being passed on to the reception. Hassib then explained the next steps clearly. My friend eventually got back his wallet at the train station lost and found. Hassib and the guest who passed on the wallet to the reception are angels! Kudos to professionalism!

all was good, only the fresh paintad floor on 4th stock was smelling not good
