Good location on top of a Ubahn station and friendly staff. Well maintained rooms. There was no information on booking that wellness facilities were closed. Room also had no coffee making (this was included and mentioned in the booking), but we got it on request. We got a complimentary upgrade. BF is a bit old fashioned (white bread, no skimm milk etc). but there is a good selection of nice products.

Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at Novotel City Alster. The suite was big and clean and everything worked. Breakfast had large variations to pick from and all from the staff was friendly. The hotel have undergrund parking for cars and is located next to u- bahn station so it is so easy to go around in Hamburg from the hotel.

Hard beds and terrible check out

The hotel is modern but has very hard beds. The worst part was check-out which took 30mins as there was only 1 member of staff working on a Sunday morning - an obviously busy time. This meant an annoying delay to our onward journey.

Very pleasant stay. Disappointed the restaurant was closed in the evening and that we had to pay an extra €3 per kids breakfast despite booking a room with breakfast included. The biggest disappointment was the quality of the breakfast: poor selection, very average quality of the items available, bad presentation. Despite the COVID-19 measure it is surely possible to make something much better.

We stayed with our 2 kids at the Novotel for 3 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the young guy D. Reichmers at the reception. Because of Covid our room hasn't been cleaned, also not when we put the sign on the door. That was a little bit of a disappointment, that we didn't report there. I guess housekeeping already passed our room when we put the sign. We had to request for a water kettle, mugs and teabags. The minibar was also empty. The underground is just downstairs which makes it easy to travel around, especially with the Hamburg Card. Overall we had a very good stay.
