Well it strik me that this is our 12 year staying at this property and that we return every year is purely due to the friendly connection we made with the staff and the quality of service is good! I have to point out “ the quality of service is now dropping am truly sorry to say this despite Covid pandemic because we have stayed at another Accor property in Hamburg this year coz we could not book a room at your property as it was not open for “ non business! Small petty things did get into my nerves! A welcome note from the GM is always an appreciation that you welcome us again as guest ! We had a complimentary bottle of water “ suprise” no opener! Booked and confirmed it’s a family trip and did order a superior room sorely I have a teen needs soft drink! We have stayed at this property for 12 years now and minimum is a two nights but more than that every year since 2009 so I know what to expect in the minibar , this time it was a joke ! Please excuse it fir Covid ! One coke, one beer, two mineral water and a bottle of orange juice, that was it!! Again no opener to be found in the room! Well luckily my hubby is creative so he could open the mineral water bottle We were upgraded into a suite “ thank you so very much ” ! On the bed only one robe , we are a par mmh Einstein figure it out ! What I am saying is small petty issues that could be fixed prior to our arrival bear in mind we checked -in around 2000hrs! Bathroom “ normally” there are complimentary toiletries , the bathroom was “ bare” ! Nothing . So I thought to my self you have the All Accor Safety and intensified hygiene prevention measure label, how does it work out if there is no soap to wash my hands! Is that hygienic ! I have just stayed at another Novotel property in August , it’s a month ago and the complimentary toiletries are still offered ! I tried to read my reservation confirmation email to see may be you have informed me due to Covid some things are changed couldn’t see a note ! So I am sorry, for once in my travel life “ I felt we were NOT welcomed “ and it did bother me because I am paying it’s not because it was a free night . I was upset and walked down the reception and confronted the Receptionist whom we have known for a while now “ Rejeb” and told him we felt unwelcome this time! Well , he did apologise on behalf of the hotel but he can not change the easyness and frustration feelings I had! The 5th floor “ disinfectant “ dispenser was never replenish, had been empty from check in time to check out day ! One instance I had to move one disinfectant bottle from the reception and put it on the main entrance tabletop because it was empty and I could go on and on! We are only returning to this property because of the good relation bond we have made with some of the staff but I am not sure that will be the case in future. The GM Réne has to be proud of his team of staff , and it’s not because I know most of the staff but because the morale of your staff is incredible, top pros! Aline , Peter and the breakfast team work really hard and are kept on their toes , boy it was busy the weekend we were there and yet they do what they do best! Princess always a star , and Mr August behind the bar , they wirk magically those two! Well done you and you should be proud! Was nice seeing Marco since he moved to Berlin, we had a chat we him as well, nice lad! Rejeb at the reception is at always empathetic, easy reassuring person and welcomes all with professionalism and does know the hospitality industry well! The past year , the Covid pandemic has not been made it easy for the hospitality industry so we both customers ( guest) and you as the provider of the service gave to working together! It’s a two way, we rely on you and your survival rely on us customers! I am sorry if I have upset you with my review but this was from my side and what we experienced! Thank you and looking forward to visit !

Before our stay we e-mailed the hotel for information about parking. We were informed by senior member of staff that there were plenty of parking avaiable. When we arrived the parking was full, and we spend an hour time to find parking. Not a great way to stay a weekend break. Worst pillow I have ever had in a 3 or 4 staff hotel. Thin and cheap.

I could not understand why I had to ask for tea and coffee facilities in my room,also I had to ask for shampoo and gel for the washroom.I was told that this was due to Covid.My daughter went to the Novatel in Berlin on the 16Aug,and all the things that I had to ask for,(which are normally in my room)where there for her.

The hotel is clean and the staffs are friendly and helpful. The location is convenient for traveling around Hamburg. It is a pity that there is no service for dinner and lunch as well as there is no kettle available in the room (due to Corona). It would be better if breakfast is served with more and desserts such as muffins or cakes, those for the kids.

Thanks for the lovely accommodation at Novotel Alster,staff was very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was good too,i have a suggestion if you can keep Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian food items separate.we are Vegetarians so felt little uncomfortable. Parking at Hotel was realy a big pain for us,we could not get proper parking as parking space were very less,that too mostly floors are rented to other offices.

Stay clean and OK A normal double room was converted into a family room removing the table and chair which would have been there. So 4 people in a narrow place

Well located, ckean and comfortable hotel with good size of room and a good variety of breakfast choices at the buffet. The staff are very friendly and eager to help. Parking is extra and so is room cleaning which is a minus in rating to me. Our overall experience was above average though and we would go back at once.

Have stayed in this hotel several times with okay experiences. Quality and service have decreased. Cleaning and shift of towels not done as it should. Breakfast in low quality an with limited choices - can not be justified by Corona. Madrasses in beds not comfortable, despite fairly new in renovated rooms. Do not expect to return

The hotel is well located at a U-Bahn station with two U-Bahn lines and within walking distance to the inner city. The breakfast buffet is good, rooms nice and cleaning service good.

Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at Novotel City Alster. The suite was big and clean and everything worked. Breakfast had large variations to pick from and all from the staff was friendly. The hotel have undergrund parking for cars and is located next to u- bahn station so it is so easy to go around in Hamburg from the hotel.

fantastic hotel and a great breakfast. staff were very friendly and hotel located right beside underground. very nice Christmas atmosphere in the hotel. The bar area is well laid out and nice to relax in after a lovely day out in the city

This is 5 year in the row my wife and I enjoyed Christmas vacations in Hamburg by staying at Novotel Alster City. We can only say it’s getting better and better, personnel are always nice and recognize the old guests, made us feel like home! Alena’s breakfast team is wonderful, warm and professional, well done!
