Dear Sir or Madam, To put it mildly, our stay at your hotel was a disaster. What is particularly alarming is that the rooms advertised as accessible are located on the eighth floor. In the event of a fire, lifts must not be used. I therefore seriously question how a guest who relies on a wheelchair is supposed to be evacuated safely from the eighth floor in an emergency. First of all, I would like to acknowledge the positive aspects. The hotel is well located, and your staff were consistently extremely friendly. Above all, they did their best to help us in our difficult situation. Unfortunately, the kindness of your staff cannot make up for the hotel's serious shortcomings. We had reserved an accessible room because I rely on a wheelchair. However, the room was so small that I could not even turn my wheelchair around inside it. There was barely any space between the bed and the wall; in fact, there was not enough room for a standard wheelchair to pass through. I only managed to squeeze through with considerable difficulty. There was absolutely no adequate manoeuvring space, and the room could not in any meaningful sense be described as wheelchair-accessible. The bathroom was equally unsuitable. It consisted of a prefabricated plastic unit and was extremely uncomfortable to use. The floor was also uneven, making it very difficult to manoeuvre my wheelchair. In addition to these accessibility issues, the room was in a generally poor condition and inadequately maintained. The furniture was old and heavily worn, and there was dirt and rust in the bathroom. An extremely unpleasant smell was coming from the bathroom drain, forcing us to keep the bathroom door closed to prevent the odour from spreading into the bedroom. The mattress also had crusty stains on it. Finally, when my wife went to use the toilet, we discovered that the flush was broken. At that point, I went to reception, understandably angry, and made a formal complaint. The member of staff immediately recognised that the situation was unacceptable and promptly arranged for us to move to a larger triple room. We are grateful to him for this. Although the problems in the bathroom were not resolved, at least I could enter the new room in my wheelchair and even turn around inside it. This alone demonstrates just how unsuitable the original room was. The hotel's public areas were also disappointing. The bar and restaurant areas were extremely cold and draughty. We could hardly spend any time there without wearing warm clothing, and at times we even had to keep our jackets on. Of the eight draught beers advertised, only four were available. The food was equally disappointing. It gave the impression of having come straight from the freezer and simply been reheated. The vegetables my wife ordered appeared to have been thawed and heated, then served without any proper preparation whatsoever — no seasoning, sauce or other attempt to improve their flavour. Breakfast was also of poor quality. Overall, we were left with the impression that your hotel is primarily focused on making a profit, while quality and guest comfort come second. The actual conditions bore little resemblance to the description on your website. In our view, charging €300 per night for this standard of accommodation is simply outrageous. We had hoped to enjoy four relaxing days away. Instead, we found ourselves trying to work out how to endure our stay at your hotel. What is particularly disappointing is that you clearly demonstrate an awareness of the needs of wheelchair users: there is an accessible toilet in the lower foyer that meets the requirements of someone using a wheelchair. It is therefore all the more incomprehensible that the room advertised as accessible fell so far short of these basic requirements. You are fortunate to have such friendly and helpful staff. Without their efforts, our stay would have been considerably worse. Had it not been for their assistance, I would seriously have considered pursuing a claim for compensation or taking further legal action. I strongly urge you to reconsider your approach to guests with disabilities and, in particular, to ensure that people who rely on wheelchairs are provided with rooms that are genuinely accessible and safe to use. I cannot dictate your overall quality standards. However, if you advertise rooms as wheelchair-accessible, they must actually be accessible and safe for their intended guests. During our stay, this was unequivocally not the case.

I stayed for 2 nights. Great location right next to a tube station and shops. The Spitalfields market just a short walk up the road and lots of places to eat/ drink around but I found it loud at night when you’re trying to sleep. Constant police/ ambulance driving past and loud cars. Other than that the beds were comfy. Room was ok and had what we needed. The bar downstairs was really nice as were staff.

It was well located for work purposes… but clumps of long hair in the bathroom, towels smelt unwashed, bed wasn’t comfy and surprisingly noisy even on 4th floor! If choice wouldn’t choose it again for work…breakfast was chaotic… nowhere to sit and not even asked if knew where everything was…

Good room in a busy hotel. 1 lift out so sometimes there was a wait to get downstairs. Shower gel wasn't replenished despite asking room servicer and the room wasn't made up 1 day. Reception made up for this by giving me towels and replacement toiletries. Breakfast was decent. Overall worth the price I paid and special praise should go to the reception team.

Two night stay. Excellent customer service with early check in which wasn't expected, but appreciated. Bed was a little too hard for our liking and the TV gliched on certain channels making choice of TV awkward, but as we only watched it late at night it wasn't too much of an issue. Breakfast was excellent with great choice.
