Great hotel only 40 minutes by train from the airport. Located 2 minute walk from the U Bahn and just 10 minutes from Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie. The hotel staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Our room was exactly described and had good air conditioning as whilst there it was 30c. Beds and pillows were great, very comfortable with summer duvets. The breakfast buffet was superb and was open from 6.30am until 11am, really good range of both cold and hot drinks, pastries, cereals, cheese, meats, fruit, yogurt and hot food selection. Although the hotel was busy it was never noisy and always somewhere to sit for breakfast.

The location is convenient and central, which was a big plus. However, I found the hotel name a bit misleading - although called “Ibis City Potsdamer Platz,” it’s actually situated on Anhalter Straße, a short walk away. The room itself had some notable issues. The toilet has permanent black stains that the hotel has apparently accepted (a note was left explaining they can’t be removed). While I didn’t expect a 5-star experience, a clean-looking toilet is a basic expectation. Additionally, the bed squeaked loudly with even the slightest movement, which was quite disturbing at night. On the positive side, the reception staff were friendly and provided genuinely good customer service. Overall, the hotel is decent for a short stay due to its location and staff, but the room quality needs attention.
