Good accommodations, but...

The room amenities were all on point as I expected of Novotel. The experience, however, fell short from what I believe would be adequate and what I paid for. Both rooms reeked, smelling like the bathroom drain was not flowing and the waste was accumulated. That was true for the toilet "room" as well as the shower/bath in the 202 and 203. Staff tried to help, but apparently the hotel was fully booked, so no room exchange was available. Apparently maintenance was called, but I'm not sure as it had no effect. Additionally, we've requested room clean up on one day, but they did a very simple once over, missing more than a few spots (we noticed a couple hair strands scattered around the room), and they didn't replace enough towels for the number of occupants. All in all, in a photo it would look nice, but once you actually spend a couple nights, you'd notice the shortcomings - and more noticeably, smell them.

We stayed for 6 nights and the hotelroom was a perfect location to visit the sights in Berlin. We didn't use the breakfast, as we found it too expensive as most people in our party are not big eaters in the morning.

Evrything is good. We have a specific problem with the shower pipe making a strong bad smell in the first two nights.
