We first stayed at this hotel in 2007 when it was relatively new. Many of the things we liked about it are still applicable today: excellent location, very large and clean rooms for the price, comfortable beds. We have never had a negative experience in the times we have stayed, but we are independent travellers and don't expect to be waited on hand and foot and everything just the way we like it (reading some of the reviews of this place remind us how spoiled some people are). The breakfast was good when we had it, but is on the pricey side; there are plenty of cafés and coffee shops nearby if you don't want to pay for the extra convenience. The bar is pleasant and a nice place to hang out in between things to do. Since 2007, there have been a few refits, especially the bathrooms and the reception areas. These were welcome, but the rest of the décor in the rooms is looking a little dated and tired. If I was asked to advise, I would retire the orange/blue colour scheme and replace the carpets. Is this a deal breaker for us? No. However, one complaint we would share in common with others we read is that the safe didn't work when we arrived and never got fixed when we pointed it out. Fortunately it wasn't a big deal for us! Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a convenient, spacious and clean place to stay.

on check in to the rooms they smelt like smoke, we had to leave to get them recleaned and did not help, the Pillows were all flat and needed changing, not ideal at all

Great central location. Hotel staff friendly. All amenities available. Bed comfortable. Overall hotel needs a modernization. Bathrooms lobby restaurant are up to date. Our room was early 2000. Nothing broken just dated
