The stay was generally fine. We love the location for being central in Joo Chiat, such that we could walk around the area and be immersed in the local atmosphere. It is really convenient. I only wish to comment on two things: firstly, the breakfast has a lot of room for improvement. The taste was so mediocre that on the second day we decided to walk over to Parkway Parade to have our breakfast instead, even though our booking already included the breakfast. Secondly, I was shocked by how thin the walls are. We were a little loud when we were packing for check-out, and the next-door occupant spoke through the wall to let us know they could hear every single word we said - when I asked my companions dubiously "is he speaking to us?" because I couldn't believe the wall was so thin, the next-door occupant answered immediately "yes, I am, I can hear every word you said, loud and clear". His words were loud and clear to us too, as though he was right there in our room with us. That totally creeped us out, thus we sped up our packing and checked out as soon as we could. I must say, although the stay at your hotel was generally pleasant, that incident just before check-out totally marred our memory of the hotel. I started travelling at a young age, and hence have stayed in countless hotels in my life, and never once have I encountered a room with such thin walls, not even in those small hotels in poorer countries. Hence, to encounter this in a 4-star hotel in Singapore was a huge surprise to me, and really made me regret not choosing Hotel Indigo in the first place. That unpleasant incident prompted me to check the reviews of your hotel on various travel forums, and I realised that "thin walls", "not protected from noise", etc. are mentioned in many posts. Thus, please do something to soundproof your rooms if you really care about reviews from former guests like us, because the message is loud and clear in my opinion.
