We were very disappointed by this Mercure hotel. Everything looks rather tired and in need of updating. It certainly isn’t a 4 star hotel - many Ibis hotels are better than this.

Stayed for one night in September 2026. It was generally a bit disappointing as the hotel felt tired and in need of a refresh. Lovely young staff on duty but the common areas and the room felt tatty and a bit worn out. Not what you expect from Mercure and probably not worth the premium price.

This hotel is close to the central train station in Tours (note this is not the only train station in town and not even the busiest) but somewhat removed from the town centre and its attractions. Staff are helpful but the interior is anonymous, I was also disappointed that our room was smaller than I expected. The selection at the bar is very limited.

Welcomed by receptionist eating lunch. Unfriendly welcome as we were one hour “too early” for check in. Breakfast worse than the ibis across the road. Comparing Mercure Rouen et Mercure Tour they are worlds apart. Rouen being of the higher standard.
