The stay was actually on the good side, we enjoyed the location of the hotel, staff was very friendly. However, few things that we noticed. First of all, air conditioning was very poor, barely any air comes out, staff said we should be using the fans, I get it that it’s cold in Edinbrugh, but rooms were very hot. Secondly, we were celebrating anniversary, I have asked the hotel if they could provide us a nice viewing room, I get it it’s based on availability, upon checking in, the reception lady said it’s the best room, the view was the alley of a nearby hotel and dumpster and trucks. Which is not expected. Third, I have paid extra, to have the option pay at the hotel, flex rate. Then I was surprised that they did not honor this and they charged my credit card in advance, and at the reception apologized, but it’s not really their fault, but also it’s not acceptable.

The hotel was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had booked 2 rooms, and when we arrived we were issued 1 room (thankfully there was an another room the other guest could use - this was a work trip :)). With regards to the rooms, comfortable, however very strange the toilet was separate to the bathroom as you need to wash your hands immediately after? As the other guest was given an "Executive" room I was also aware that they had additional toiletries, i.e in my room I had shampoo but no conditioner, and shower gel but no hand/body lotion, which were in the Executive rooms. Surely a guest, irrelevant of the room they stay in, should be provided with the same toiletries. Overall a great stay :)
