We had an excellent stay. All staff were highly professional and kind. The location is excellent for so many Edinburgh destinations. We particularly rate the hotel pool. Sparkling clean and open to children. Perfect to relax after sightseeing. Only one problem. We asked for a child’s bed for a 4 year old and were only given a cot for up to 18 mnths. Child had to share double bed.

There was nothing hugely wrong, but there was only one lift working, meaning long queues to get up to my room, and only one coffee machine working at breakfast both mornings, meaning long queues for coffee as well (even relatively early at 7.30)

The room was perfectly adequate and clean. But way too hot and there was no good way of regulating the temperature. The windows did open enough to let in some air, but we were overlooking a very busy road, so it was much too noisy to leave them open. There is no air conditioning - just a very outdated looking fan system, which apparently is ‘heating in the winter and cooling in the summer’. But even on the lowest temp it made very little difference. We had to leave it on maximum fan - which was VERY noisy and it still didn’t cool the room. Hence a bad night’s sleep unfortunately!

Staff were very friendly and location was excellent. However the room didn't work: it was dark, nowhere to hang towels in the shower and huge mirrors on the loo door?!?! The breakfast wasn't good: stale tasting water and no fresh juice.
