Loud construction site on the hotel, and I got the room right next to it (130, 1st floor). I asked for a room at a higher floor already at checkin, that was denied (20.01. @ 8:40pm). Despite of being ALL Silver member with plenty visits in this Novotel Leuven before. All was "full" (not true, see below). In the morning 21st I planned one long morning to rest before challenging business activities. But very early in the morning, the construction works right next to my window were super loud and started my day with anger and stress. After talking to front desk, I got offered another room for the 2nd night (so I suppose there were plenty of rooms free the night before already). However 2nd morning I needed to get up early anyway, so no need for room change and even more hassle for me. Also, room 130 looked quite worn-out, stained carpets, smelly bathroom and I don't think the toilet light switch was ever cleaned. Long story short: why do you assign rooms next to this loud place at all, especially for your loyal status members??? This was my worst Novotel experience so far. Additional point: breakfast closing 9:30am is too early. And service personnel was even cleaning up earlier.

My stay in this hotel was very nice. The staff at the hotel reception were extraordinarily helpful in solving a problem of my colleague and they were also very approachable when there help or advice was needed. I had two dinners at the restaurant: I had a very good time there as I received an excellent service (including good humour) and the food was very good and tasty. The hotel is about 5 minutes of walking from the Leuven train station and easily reachable. I was very happy with my room: good size, nice layout, quiet and I had a very good sleep. I will definitely come back to this hotel on my next stay in Leuven.
