The room is fine if basic, but on this occasion very noisy, with trams rattling by all night.

Had a fantastic 5 nights at the Mercure Berlin City. 2 tram stops from the main Central station, right next door to a U-Bahn and a very short walk to the S-Bahn. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, we would love to return one day.

It's not a shiny new hotel, but it's still reasonably modern, with no signs of wear and tear in the room or bathroom. The location is very good, just one minute walk from a tram stop and metro (U-Bahn) station (two tram stops from the central station), and the neighborhood offers several dining options within walking distance on Chausseestrasse. Service was professional and helpful during our interactions, leaving a positive impression. I did not try the hotel's bar/restaurant. Overall, there was nothing to be really excited about the hotel, but it still was a very good option for a city stay, and I wouldn't mind booking it again.

Good location - 2 stops with tram from main train station and 100 m to metro line, which goes every 3 minutes. REWE supermarket in the near. Friendly staff, good breakfast and clean.
