I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the check-in felt cold and unwelcoming. No information was provided about the hotel, amenities, or any benefits included with my stay. To make things worse, my luggage was lost during arrival, and when I asked reception to inform me once it arrived, the response I got was simply “I don’t know, come in the afternoon.” That kind of dismissive attitude toward a basic request was frustrating and unhelpful. Later, other staff members were more accommodating, but the initial experience left a very negative impression. No luggage assistance was offered, even though I was clearly carrying a significant amount of baggage. On the second day, a housekeeper entered my room without knocking while I was inside. I was fortunately out of direct view, but this was a serious breach of privacy and very uncomfortable. The room itself was extremely small, with a very odd and uncomfortable bathroom layout. Before my stay, I had emailed the hotel with a request and received a response that was clearly copied from ChatGPT without even removing the template text. That alone felt unprofessional and careless. Additionally, communication was difficult as several staff members barely spoke English, which is surprising for a supposed four-star hotel in the capital of Germany. As an Accor employee and a manager at a Fairmont property, I understand the standards expected in hospitality, and these types of behaviors and service levels are simply not acceptable. I intended to raise these concerns with the General Manager during my stay but was unable to do so at the time. I would appreciate it if the General Manager could contact me to discuss this matter further. Overall, this felt more like a two-star experience at best.
