Air condition not turned on at arrival Rock hard beds Coat hangers from hell where they need to be treaded through a hole in & out to be used Hairdryer with too low effect No shirt iron in the room

Specifically wanted a twin bedded room hence booked direct with Mercure rather than a 3rd party booking site where it is 'subject to availability'. We had a room facing the inner courtyard which was lovely and quiet even with the window open all night. Room was very clean and size was fine for 2 adults. We were quoted 22 euros each for breakfast upon arrival which we thought was very expensive so had breakfast at the many local cafes (didn't want to commit to breakfasts for every morning on initial booking but may have had 1 the 1st day if they were priced more reasonably). Great location for the Berlin wall memorial park, metro, s-bahn, and tram transport systems. We were also able to leave luggage at reception on our last day which was another important factor in booking this hotel as our flight was not until early evening. Only suggestion for improvement would be to have a small fridge in the room to keep drinks etc cool.

OK, but not very clean

The room was alright but the bathroom needs a deep clean. The toilet wasn’t clean when we arrived so I cleaned it with what I had on hand. Both the shower and the sink had quite a bit of built up grime. I can understand that the cleaning staff doesn’t have enough time to clean all of this on a daily basis but this bathroom needs some more attention. I’ve only read very positive reviews of this hotel so I’m guessing we were just unlucky with our room. Also, the room can get quite warm at night. What I did like is that we hardly heard any noise from outside our room as long as the window was closed and that checking in and out was swift.
