We stayed for one night and came away covered in bed bug bites. What feels worse right now is nearly two weeks after lodging a complaint I have still not heard back with an apology

As I do in the many hotels where I stay overnight ,after closing the door on leaving my bed room,I check the door is locked by trying the handle to open the door. On returning after having dinner nearby at around 21.30 hrs the bedroom door would not unlock. Reception was closed and there was no response on the phone A kind Frenchman assisted me and after 30 minutes or so access was gained using the contact on the outside help screen/phone. In the morning I was informed by reception that, by checking the door is locked after closing, this somehow affects the locking mechanism and prevents the room code from unlocking the door on return ! How would a client know this and not to do this ? and so be locked out? I stay often in FI Hotels and this is the first time I have had this problem !,and never in other hotels . This problem prevented me using the toilet overnight and the shower in the morning as I was not prepared to leave the door open and risk my valuables being stolen . Secondly despite your website stating a "large car park" I was unable to access with my car and trailer due to the necessity to turn immediately on partially entering I was not a happy client.
