The lack of a lift reflects poor standards and a feeling of senior management exploiting staff, as did the disrepair of the tiling of the patio/ poolside area. Inadequate air conditioning and not providing a walk-in shower or easily accessed bath were both disappointing. The provision of hair-drier and safe were erratic. Uncomfortable and inadequate seating in the bar area didn’t help. Bank holiday weekend staff seemed a bit demoralised too. We won’t be back.

The absence of a lift is due to the structural design of the building and does not in any way reflect our management practices or how we treat our staff, to whom we are fully committed. Regarding the terrace and poolside areas, they were indeed under maintenance at the time of your arrival, which explains their temporary condition. These works are part of our ongoing efforts to improve and maintain our facilities. Your other comments regarding comfort, equipment, and overall experience have been carefully noted and shared with the relevant departments for review and improvement. Room was described as 'superior with modern decor, ergonomics and high-tech equipment: free wifi, pay TV, minibar and safe'. Instead we were given a very old uninviting room with missing bedside table, no minibar and a very tired bathroom'. Very poor quality of service and we are seeking a full refund.

Regarding the room description, we fully understand your concern. Certain historical room descriptions may still include amenities such as minibars. However, we would like to clarify that our group has updated its environmental policy: minibars are no longer systematically installed or replaced. Rooms that were previously equipped may retain them, but they are no longer part of the standard guaranteed facilities. We are also sorry to hear that the room did not meet your expectations in terms of comfort and condition. The young lady that received us was very helpful and courteous. The gentleman on duty with her was also helpful and courteous. Between them they managed to find good food for two tired, late arrivals and switch us to a wheelchair friendly room when they realised our needs had changed. Thank you.

Rooms are old, burn mark on the carpet, shower are very old and have yellow mark. This didn't change since many years. People from Novotel are every time very nice.

Run down hotel, first got room 279 that was not ready, it was under renovation, then got another room, old terrible beds.
