The Ibis Hotel, La Glacerie, Cherbourg is a perfectly pleasant spot to stay for a few days, with comfortable and quiet rooms, and which is close by to a decent number of restaurants and supermarkets. The hotel itself is adjacent to an Ibis Budget Hotel, with the respective receptions closer to the associated hotel. The rooms are basic enough, with neither fridge nor iron, but are bright and airy.

The room itself and spaces are well thought out and comfortable. However, the restaurant needs improvement. The food itself is good, but the service was chaotic and unorganised. No cutlery at dinner, trouble getting attention, and a severe lack of food at breakfast with nobody there to take any sort of action. The restaurant service significantly negatively impacts the hotel.

Pleasant stay recently. Room was comfortable however the mattress kept moving off the bed. While the shower pressure was excellent, I was surprised the toilet & shower unit was a plastic unit. Having paid 93 euros for 1 night accommodation, I expected a better standard bathroom for 3 star accommodation. Staff were all very pleasant.

I have mobility problems but do not need a wheelchair which in this bedroom it would be impossible to get passed the bed to get to the bathroom. The bathroom seemed designed the wrong way round as the shower was right at the door instead of being as far from the door as possible. The whole hotel was tired and for what you got was expensive.

The check-in of midday onwards was very useful to enable us to then go on to do our final shopping at the nearby hypermarket before returning to the UK the following day. Great to have free parking onsite and a very reasonable restaurant for an evening meal. The room size was ideal with sufficient space to hang and store clothes for an overnight stay.
