Great location, friendly and helpful staffs. Room was great too, we mostly go out anyway, but the bed and room amenities could not go wrong. Most importantly, room was clean.

Location has certainly improved from 6 years ago when the area around the bus stop and underpass felt dodgy and unsafe. Hotel renovation has refreshed the feel. Would have liked the shower stall to have a door to prevent splashes and keep the shower / toilet room dry. Finally would have liked complimentary bottled water. Having one water dispenser on ground floor made hotel feel cheap.

The room had weird colored lights in the room and no normal lights. Very strange and felt uncomfortable. These lights also randomly turned on 3 times overnight waking me up and keeping me awake for a long time. I told the staff about it and they didn’t seem to care too much. I also returned to my room at 3pm after a long day of work and the room had not been redone which is way too late in the afternoon. The restaurant for breakfast was also extremely dark with very minimal lighting. Not comfortable to eat breakfast in. Just wasn’t an overall great stay.

Great clean room with easy access to public transport. Disappointed to not have automated check in, prefer interacting with humans. Shower, Sink and Toilet taps were a bit weird, sink tap came on when I turned the shower on in the mornings! Level 10, dark and quiet room which was great. Excellent location. But it was the dinner experience which spoiled my overnight stay. My dinner at Platform 818 was extremely disappointing. Tasteless seafood sauce with too thick pasta. The staff did the right thing and didn’t charge me but I felt like I had no dinner and totally spoiled my night. As an Accor explorer gold member I happily support the venues restaurants - first one to let me down!

I satisfied for the stay there. However, some issues should be solved. First, bad smells are all around the underground parking lot, lifts, and the hallway. Second, staff should be well aware of the parking payment rule.

We had a relatively comfortable stay at Mercure Sydney for the Sydney Marathon. The staff was very helpful, and it's very close to Central train station, which made getting around easy. Breakfast was also good. Areas for improvement include better soundproofing and providing free water bottles (there were none) in the rooms. The fragrance used in the foyer is also a bit too strong, and a more accommodating one would be ideal.
